Because this is how she saw it.
----------------------------------------------------
'Welcome, sports fans. We've come to THE.... BIGGEST..... SHOWDOWN..... of the night!
This is the main event, the big one, the one we've all been waiting for, wouldn't you say,
Chris?'
'Why yes I would, Jerry, I certainly would say that. It's been a long time coming but here it is,
live and up close, in front of this capacity crowd, and I gotta tell ya, I feel honoured to be
here.'
'I'm sure we all feel honoured, Chris, we've been waiting for this a long time. And here they
come now, the two competitors. You can see the determination in 'em, as they come down
the ramp. They're both going to do their best to make sure that this year long grudge between
'em ends HERE, TONIGHT, and you can double-guaran-damn-tee, it's gonna be a hell of a
match.'
'Yes it is, Jerry, and they're entering the ring now. In one corner, weighing in at 125 pounds,
we've got everyone's favourite battler, the beautiful, can't-keep-her-down QUEEN of tonight's
show, Sandra!'
'And in the other... the Dark One, the Big Fella, weighing in at thousands of years of human
suffering, The Big C himself, Cancer!'
'And there's the bell. You can see them moving around the ring, sizing each other up, and I
gotta tell you, Jerry, I've never seen anything as intense as the look on Sandra's face right
now. The stats say she's the underdog tonight, but she's the crowd favourite, and you can tell she's not gonna make it easy for him.'
'She sure isn't. And ther she is, initiating the attack. She's opened with Chemo, Chris, the
move she's developed just for this match-up, and you can see Cancer falling back, giving
himself some room, trying to avoid the devastating power of this tactic.'
'Oh.. here he comes. He was put on his back foot by that, but he's come back RAGING, and
he's countering her move with Metastasis, and look at Sandra's face! She looks about ready
to give up, and who can blame her? She's flat on her back after the onslaught of Cancer's
attack, and I gotta be honest with you, I just don't see how she's gonna come back from that.
Oh.. no.. wait.. she's getting up! SHE'S GETTING UP! Dear lord, have you ever seen anything
like the strength of this young woman! She's come back at him full force, hitting him with
Radiation, and... she has him locked a remission hold! She's got him in remission, can you
credit it!?'
'I'm stunned by the strength of this woman, I really am. Who would have though she could have
this courage, this power, and you can see the hurt she's putting on Cancer, you can see him
fighting to break the remission hold, but she's not giving an inch and....oh HELL!'
'The speed of that move was breathtaking, and you can see now why Cancer has the
reputation he does. Folks, if you missed that, this is what's just happened in instant replay -
you can see Cancer breaking the remission hold with a lighting fast Relapse, effectively
turning the tables in an instant.'
'And Sandra.. she's fading fast. She's fought an amazing match, exceeded all expectations,
but it looks like Cancer finally has the upper hand. All that's left now is the end game... is
Cancer going to steadily beat away at her until she submits, or.. '
'No, here it comes. The final blow, Cancer's trademark move. You can see the resignation in
her, the knowledge, and I'm not ashamed to say that this is the hardest thing I've ever had to
watch.'
'And... sports fans... you'll forgive an old fool for saying this, but I do believe we were all hoping for a different outcome tonight. I know I'm not alone in this.'
'You're certainly not, we've all been touched by Sandra's strength and courage here tonight.
But experience told in the end, and the winner is Cancer, by a TKO.'

Wherever you go now, darlin', go there in peace.

My Dad died of cancer related complications in 2001.
As did his mother.
As did 4 of his aunts. The remaining 1 is currently in Chemo.
As did 3 of his uncles. The remaining 2 are currently in remission.
This was something else Circe, something else indeedy.

I didn't rate this earlier because... actually, I'm not sure why. Anyway, better late than never.

I really liked this. I've lost a couple of people in my life to various forms of cancer. I wish you strength.

I'm female, squattail. The phrase you want is 'dumb bitch cunt' or something similar.
Thanks for taking the time to hit the caps lock key, though. I feel special.
