Part V:

George didn't know why he got involved, he didn't even know how. All he knew was that it happened, and he was a part of it, and it was too late for him to back out. He clung to the roof of Jeremy's house, wondering how he was going to get down. He wasn't quite sure if it was a good thing yet, but it could turn out to be. It was for history to decide.

The ladder had just fallen. It was no big deal though. Jeremy's house was in the woods. Off of a back road. Noone around for at least a mile. Now he had to go on. There was no turning back. He wondered why Jeremy wasn't home, and wasn't expected home for a few hours. It's like Tom and Jared knew everything that there was to know about his life.

It was a really nice house, big too. George was suprised when he saw it. It had three stories, not including the basement. It had a beautiful porch, with large picture windows. From the blue prints he learned that the pillars on the porch were hand carven. Must've been expensive too.

He started to struggle to get up. He didn't have all night just to cling to the roof. And the window was only a few feet away. He managed to get up on all fours, and crawl to the window. It's a good thing it wasn't cold out. George hated the cold. Especially at night. It sent a chill through his body like there were ghosts in the room. But tonight, the temperature was a comfortable sixty-eighty degrees. Tom and Jared were sure to pick a night that was warm. That way there would be less bulkiness climbing the ladder.

After he got whatever was in the safe, he was supposed to meet them back at his house. They waited there in his livingroom watching cable. It was a Friday night, what could possibly be on that they want to watch? Oh well. It was no big deal. They seemed like the kind of guys that he could trust.

Janelle was supposed to go out with her kids. She stopped by earlier and had a drink with Jared, Tom, and George at George's house. Her husband was on a business trip, which George thought was weird. What kind of a business trip would a chemist go on? Maybe a chemists' convention? Then he remembered about the deal he was trying to make with the CIA and FBI. It must be with them. At least with some general or someone important. George wasn't too sure on how they ranked people in the two spying programs.

He slid the window open, just like he was told, it was unlocked. It was a nice bedroom. Big bed, two dressers, and a lush purple carpet. It seemed like a king could live in this room. Where did Jeremy get all the money for this? It must've come from scams he's pulled on people. Probably tricked them out of their money. The stupid scheming little bastard...

He climbed in the window, careful to take his shoes off first. He didn't want to leave any footprints on the beautiful carpet. Not only would it be a shame to destroy it, but it could get him caught. That's the last thing he needed. Jail wasn't particularly part of his plans for the near future.

He walked through the room, and out the door. He looked right, then remembered that the safe was in the room down the hall to the left. He turned and saw the door open. There was the safe. A big bulky gray thing in such a beautiful house. He could see where the combination lock was taken off, and the key lock put in it's place. Not a bad job, but they could've at least reprimed it and painted it to hide the seem. But who cared about looks. What they really cared about was what was inside.

George walked towards the room, looking in the various doors to his left and right. A bathroom, a bedroom that looks like it's for a kid, another kid's room. Funny, he thought... He didn't remember hearing anything about Jeremy having kids. That door must be the closet. He opened it just to look. It was. It had some beautiful dresses and suits in it. He didn't remember hearing anything about a wife or a mistriss either. Strange.

He walked into the guest bedroom. Probably the most plain of everything he's seen so far. Drab beige walls, a simple desk, a simple dresser, the safe, and a bed, that was made up with white sheets and a beige comforter. Must not have guests very often, he thought. He walked over to the safe, and reached into his pocket for the key. Then he heard the door close behind him. He turned around thinking about how bad he was going to get caught. He stood up and turned around.

There was Janelle wearing a beatiful black dress, very short and revealing much cleavage.

"What the hell are you doing here?! You almost gave me a heart attack!" George said grabbing his chest.

"This is my house, not Jeremy's. I'm here to seduce you. I slipped a little of my husband's drug into your drink at your house. Sly, wasn't it?" Janelle smiled.

That explained why his thoughts kept jumping and he felt tired. It had to be a stronger dose, because he felt different this time.

"So this whole plan was..."

"Fake. I've been attracted to you for quite some time. And now, since you can't think clearly, it's you, me, an empty house, and all night. Let's get started with some drinks." She led him to the bar downstairs, where he immediately slouched in a leather seat.

"I don't want anything. I can't trust it from you anymore." He smiled."

"That's no problem, I already have the medicine in you, so why would I want to give you more?"

"Good point, I'll have whatever you're having. And I'm attracted to you too. But I didn't want you to cheat on your husband. But all you had to do was tell me that you were willing. No drugs neccesary."

"It's okay. I wasn't sure that you wanted to sleep with me, and they'll wear off soon enough. Here's a drink that will quicken it's effects. No drugs in this one though."

"Alright, sure. So why did they help you anyway?"

"Who?"

"Tom and Jared?"

"Oh. They've been friends of mine for quite some time. They're gay, and they really just wanted me to be happy, so they decided to help me devise a way to get you in my house, with me, alone."

"It worked." He drank the entire glass in one big gulp.

"I wonder what those two are up to anyway." Janelle smiled wryly at the fact that in her early thirties, she was still attractive...
