Youth Workers. The two worded phrase that has sparked hate in the hearts of many Tasmanians. We know smoking is bad, we know drugs will kill us, along with drinking and violence. We have long realized that gambling is a highly addictive habit that will ruin our lives. But do we give a shit? No. And nothing is ever going to change that, so why bother bringing groups of failed actors, singers, musicians together and giving them stupid names like;
"The Hurting Game" -Bullies
"Say No" -To drugs
"Fags are for Dags" -for smokers. How original. They've had had that same name ever since it was proven that smoking killed.
"It's not your fault" -for victims of abuse.
"Are you cool now, alcohol abuser" -oviously for abusers of alcohol
Do you really want me to continue? No. but I will. I adore hate mail, and I'll drudge up any article just to have it delivered.
These people (Youth Workers) have caused me continuous grief throughout the years.
In kindergarten we had a bunch of nuns come to our school. I wore red that day, not knowing it was the colour of the devil. Apparently I was going to be burned for all eternity for this sin. my parents had to take me to a child psychiatrist afterwards because i had developed a case of insomnia. Now tell me, please, why would you tell a five year old that?
Two years later, in grade one, we had a man come to speak to us about the dangers of talking to strangers. A day after the talk, he was arrested for acts of pedophiliaism (How do you spell it?). I didn't understand this until years later, but now it is just creepy...
One year ago, in ninth grade, we had another group on binge drinking. Yes it was boring, but what interested me was that I read in the news paper was that one was killed in a drunken brawl. Coincidence on the third time round? I'm not sure...
Well. There you go. I revealed my worst fears to a club of people I don't know or particularly like. Next thing you know ill be the typical social dropout whose only link to the outside world is their email account.
And to any one who questions the relation ship between my name and that last paragraph - I am not an antisocial. Its hard to be when you live on an island in a community where everyone knows who you are and if you don't turn up to a social gathering, the call the police on you because they automatically assume that something bad has happened to you.
Fuck it. And i'm not a druggie either...
