Last night I was reading through the news on http://www.msn.de/ when I stumbled across this survey about sex around the world. The interviewees were from about twenty different countries but they seemed to only put the interesting countries in the data concerning particular questions. Now I am currently living in Australia, but this July will be headed off to Germany for a while.
Most people from Australia and North America seem to hold the view that Germans and Europeans in general are kinky as anything and love to have lots of sex all of the time. I mean, what else is there to do over there? And I bet it's really warm under those covers compared to freezing out in the Alps. But after reading the results of this survey, I was surprised by how kinky the Europeans (especially Germans) aren't.
Australia and the USA are leading the world in most forms of kinkiness; it seems, with Australians buying more lubricant for our population than any other nation, and with 17% of our population having had same sex encounters. The UK is still the world leader in S&M followed closely by Norway, but despite my previous opinion of Deutschland, 23% of those surveyed have no experience with Lubricant, Vibrators (or similar toys), Handcuffs/Bondage toys, Ribbed Condoms, Pornography or Sexy lingerie.
Now with my dreams of Germany being a sexual playground shattered, I have to ask myself, ?Do I really want to go??
