the little balinese girl and the invisible trees
wind in the curtains
a bird made of paint, created by nervous typing hands
in another time
the reflecting puddle full of trees and sky and pages of a forgotten
book soggy and wet the sound of a bird's wing
swooping fast on my wall
"send for an ambulance, baby's on fire" on the stereo
sirens and laughter outside, mad sexy as sprouting
potatoes and bitter and vengeful as the smell of the
frustrated man
the pulse of blood
"I wish I was as bent as the moon" she laughed many years ago
and the clockwork toys in her grown up son's toybox
her sad kind milk and chocolate biscuit face
and his small gentle hand on her foot.

I read it once silently, and was confused but not displeased.
Then I read it aloud and loved it. I wish I could read it aloud to everyone who didn't get it.
