<RANT>
I just got off reading one of the Cruel sites of the day here:
http://www.wayofthemaster.com/
On this site, washed up 80's TV loser Kirk Cameron takes you through a brief quiz of the 10 commandments. At the end he berates you about your impending trip to Hell and basically calls you a filthy heathen in the eyes of God after you inevitably fail the test. I have broken 9 of the 10 commandments myself, innocent only of murder. Still, I consider myself a decent man, and most who know me would agree with that assessment. Most of the Commandments I did break were when I was in my late teens, but we all know that most teenagers are scum.
Still, this brings me to one of the things that pisses me off about religious people the most. I am an unreligious man myself, but I do respect the fact that most people in this world are not like me in this regard. I have absolutely no problem with people believing in a higher power, and in fact I somewhat envy these people. Indeed, I wish that I was able to belive in a God myself. Though I cannot believe in a higher power, I have a 100 percent respect for others that do.
HOWEVER, the one thing that makes me hate some religious people soooooo much to the point of blind unthinking rage is when they thank God or Jesus or Allah for the mundane bullshit good things that happen in their lives. When people do this, it is basically disrespecting their God as a petty, evil little fuck, and is showing that person to be a colossally arrogant self-centered prick. Let me explain what I mean.
Picture a rap star coming up to the podium to receive the 1999 Grammy award for best rap artist. Now, without using Google or other reference, can you tell me which rapper that was that won the Grammy for best rapper on 1999? If you can, you either have a photographic memory or are a hardcore music geek, and my point is shot to shit - but most of you out there will have no idea about who that person was. You realize that in even the small scheme of things, a Grammy win for best rap artist in the year 1999 is an absolutely meaningless distinction. A distinction that is all but forgotten 5 minutes after the award is handed out.
I can almost guarantee that when that unnamed rapper got up to the podium in 1999 to make his or her rambling, incoherent speech after receiving their insignificant award that they thanked Jesus at some point. What an ignorant, arrogant fuck that rapper is. So let me get this straight you dumbshit motherfucking piss poor excuse for a musician (I am referring to the rapper now, not you dear reader) - Jesus was busy helping you win your pathetic award for your horrible music, but he really didn't give enough of a fuck about those people being slaughtered in Rwanda or Kosovo or basically anywhere in the world where cruelty is being committed, to actually do anything to stop those events?
So, Jesus is more concerned with you winning a ridiculous award for chanting bad poetry over canned computer beats than saving the lives of 800 000 thousand people in a poor African country? When you thank Jesus for your meaningless award, you are basically saying that he had some role - some power in helping you win that award over your competitors. In essence you are saying that He cares about that kind of mundane nonsense. You believe that on one hand, the Supreme being helped you win your fucking worthless award, and on the other let innocent children be raped and murdered.
Way to go, little Mr or Miss Center of the fucking Universe! Jesus loves you more than everyone else!
This whole rant also applies to all you asshole athletes, actors, and anyone else who believes that Jesus cares more about you wining a fucking football game or academy award then women and children being butchered in third world countries. You are all fucking horrible, arrogant goddam assholes, who if your God does exist and is indeed truly just, will torture you for a few thousand years for your breathtaking hubris.
You monumental pricks who thank Jesus for your bullshit accomplishments are the absolute worst kind of fucking trash. Go to Hell and burn. Seriously. This goes to Kirk Cameron as well.
</RANT>
Here is a good pic from a photoshop friday on somethingawful.com where one guy gives his theory on how life started on earth.

You pissed me off beyond words. If it bothers you so much change the fucking channel. People can say whatever they want to say. If they believe that God helped them, let them. You pobably watch the Grammys every year just to find something to complain about. And where did you pull those statics from, your ass? If you say that you respect God how the FUCK can you put that completely contradicting picture on your post? As for your views on rap..Your close minded views lead me to believe that you haven't given it a chance, even if you still don't like it don't put those jerk off sterotypical point of views on it.. You suck and this post was a waste of fucking time, I hope you didn't waste more than a minute on this BS..

Christians/religious people have a tendency to believe that a higher being has orchestrated everything in their life. Thanking their god is a way of expressing that belief.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is fair enough if thanking god is just a way of expressing their belief, but in my opinion these people literally believe that God/Jesus/Allah whoever has an actual hand in their success. They list off a bunch of people in their thanks, all real people who actually helped in their award, then they add Jesus as if he was one of these real helpers.
These people are not theolgians. I truly think that they think God is up there in heaven or wherever, subtely changing the world to help their career.
If this is not supreme arrogance, I don't know what is.
But, if like you said, it is only to show their belief, then fair enough.

Just to be a nit picky ass, have you ever heard of free will? I hear that it's something the Christians believe in quite a bit. Maybe you should read up on your religons before you make a comment. Oh yeah, I like this post, anyone who thanks god for anything short of curing AIDS or cancer really needs check their egos and.......... uh........... kill themselves. Yeah that's it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Humans have the ability to make choices. Those choices are orchestrated by god. So the chances of getting something have been given to them by God.
The reason they thank God is because they gave them the chance to do it.

Yes tito, and i know more about the bible than you probably ever will. Free will enables us to make choices. Christ has orchestrated those choices. Gay you are gay

+2 Because I agree with you point. You notice how after the Super Bowl or other big athletic event, some sportscaster interviews the winning team? The winning team always thanks GOD for the win. When interviewing the losing team, you never hear the losers saying "It's God's fault we lost".
-4 Because of how you forced your opinion of rap music down my throat in your rant. You called it "chanting of meaningless poetry over canned compuer beats". You, sir, are a closed-minded fuck.

The Way of the Master is an interdenominational ministry whose purpose is to teach Christians how to share the gospel effectively, biblically...the way Jesus did.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey HCP28 get it right bro. They're interdenominational and they're doing what the Bible says to do. Find me in the bible what they're doing is wrong and i'll give you a dollar.
Did you even read the post? My problem is with the arrogant people who thank Jesus or whoever for their pitiful awards. I have nothing against Christians or Christianity. I just threw Kirk Cameron on there because he's a self-righteous ass.

This owns. I hate rappers, especially P. Diddy who only talks in his songs and flails his arms around in his videos. Ewww. Some comedian made fun of those rappers who thank god if they win some award. I think the quote was, "Yeah, and I wanna thank God for my #1 selling album, I fucked yo mother before I shot her." or something along the lines of that. Good day.

Maybe if you stopped looking at ultra conservative baptist websites you wouldn't get the whole your going to hell whether you like it or not speach. on a second note I say you can thank whomever or whatever you want for good, and blame whomever or whatever you want for the tradegies of the world. How about you stop bitching about why God doesn't do this or that and get off your ass and do something about it? Oh what? you don't feel like it? You are a lazy whiny 12 year old? What? Go fuck yourself? be sure to use lots of lube you moron. I hate people like you who bitch about everything when you get your grammy award you can thank Satan himself for your award how about that?
Oh wait I forgot your never going to accomplish anything in your long miserable excuse for a life. Why don't you go back to whacking off to pictures of your mother.

Jesus loves everyone, even you. Read the Gospels and you'll have a better understanding as to why bad things happen. It's just part of our journey. It happens for a reason.
