On June 30 the first government of Iraq will replace the temporary US goverment. And trust me they are going to do it.

Iraq will transform from an age old tyranny into a modern country. Much like Japan or South Korea. I wish USA invaded every country in the world and set them a new government. Too many idiots cannot take care of themselves. The Iraqi oil will be sold to US at reasonable prices, and the Iraqi people will finally recieve the money for their oil. You have to be fooling yourself if you think anybody got a dime from oil sales in the time of Saddam. Besides Saddam and his henchmen or course.

Many people say that Iraqi economy was ruined by USA, since we did not buy their oil. Let me tell you this. When I need to buy a TV, I go to Best Buy. I dont buy a stolen TV set, altho it would cost me twice as less. Saddam Hussein was a criminal and a tyran. Buying oil from him was like buying stolen goods. Iraqis never saw a dime from the oil sales.

Just hang in their ladies and gentelmen. On June 30th go out on the streets and beat up a liberal. Bush kicks ass.

Freight, you're the one that supports American policy change so much overseas. Would you like a Foreign Power coming in and running your country? I get the impression that if North Korea came in to monitor this years elections and seize the US economy you would be on the front lines, fighting them. Which would make you the equivalent of the Iraqi "Dissidents and militia" that you all seem to hate so much.

Explain the hypocrisy, please.

Look, once all the Iraqis are killed the June 30th handover will go smoothly. Bush can hand Iraq over to which ever puppet government will protect America's interests the best (there's a reason Americans pay less for gas then the rest of the world), and America will have a permanent foothold in the middle east, Bush supporters can put their rose-colored glasses (which surprisingly only see in black and white) back on, and everybody's happy.

How come every time I think about bush supporters, I keep picturing a scene out of lord of the rings? A sea of slobbering mindless orcs marching across the world devouring anything that gets in their way.. Oh, maybe it's because conservatives and Orcs share all the same attributes..

Let's see now..

Greedy [check]
Dim witted [check]
Violent [check]
Incredibly short sighted (theirs no such thing as global warming, scientist, like all sorcerers, should be burned) [check]

"Is it personal enough to completely ignore human rights abuses and obvious terror connections, especially when he's running as a national security and military president?"

The way that a layman like you or I see it .. it is wrong to ignore human rights and obvious terror connections. The way a president or someone high up sees it is that they're giving us something we dont want to piss them off so we can overlook that shit. Every president does it. Doesn't change the fact that it's wrong it just seems like everybody points out that Bush has ties with them just because of the War on Terror.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well I think that "shit" that they're overlooking is pretty important. I Now I agree, the human right stuff isn't a good enough reason to go to war with the Saudis, but the known terror ties are, especially since we're supposedly fighting a war on terror. Doesn't it seem odd that in order to fight the war on terror, we invade a country that has no proven links to Al-Queda, and we are ignoring a country that is known to support Al-Queda in the past? Now, I'm not in the pres's head, but I think there's something else going on. Also, I agree that all presidents have some sort of blood on their hands, both Dems and Reps. The main reason I'm using him as an example is because he's the current president and it's well known that he has ties with the Saudi royal family outside of a diplomatic relationship.

wow.
Bush is the most liberal president ever. If you dont think so, look at the numbers. Bush turned the largest surplus in history into the largest deficit in history. Now the money for gas goes not only to OPEC (how the hell do you think saddam didnt pay anyone for it), but twice as much goes to the american government. Good ol' Uncle Sam, always there when our pockets get heavy.

We only get about 11% of our oil from Iraq; this was never about oil. Regardless, I find it odd that you even mentioned the oil thing- usually it's conservatives that cry about that whole "blood for oil" bullshit.

as opposed to who? Pretty much all of the presidents have had ties with the saudi royal family and their cash. It's not surprising seeing how the majority of our oil comes from there. Dont try to make it out like Bush is some nazi because he has ties with them.

Every president we have...since before and beyond will have ties with them if we continue to do the amount of business we're doing.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Actually, Bush has had a professional relationship with the Saudi royal family ever since his oil drilling days, so his relationship is more personal than most presidents. Is it personal enough to completely ignore human rights abuses and obvious terror connections, especially when he's running as a national security and military president? I don't know. Plus, it's a moot point to discuss any other president, since GWB is the president now and he's supposedly dealing with the war on terror. You are right though, the US has had a long relationship with Saudi Arabia, and quite frankly, it's disgusting. Like I said before, the House of Saud is just as bad as Hussein.

Buying oil from him was like buying stolen goods. Iraqis never saw a dime from the oil sales\
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, this is the ultimate hypocrisy in the conservatives "Saddaam was a ruthless dictator" rhetoric (plus, let's face it, that's not the reason we went to war with them in the first place. How conveniently we forget the WMD lies and the phantom Al-Queda connection). Who gives us the most oil? SAUDI ARABIA (http://www.gravmag.com/oil.html#imports).

Saudi Arabia abuses human rights just as badly as Hussein did. When was the last time you heard of an uncovered woman or a woman who was raped getting stoned in Iraq? That's right, never. And then there's Saudi Arabia's religous police, who capture and kill people who are "sorcerers". Oh yeah, and they're providing refuge to Idi Amin, former dictator of Uganda, who is responsible for killing about 300,000 of his own people (I got a lot of this info from this site, as well as books I've read on the subject http://www.hrw.org/wr2k1/mideast/saudi.html).

Let's not forget the terror links, among many, Saudi Arabia was the "principal financial banker for the Taliban". And, "the Saudi monarchy has funded dubious schools and "charities" throughout the Islamic world. Those organizations have been hotbeds of anti-Western, and especially, anti-American, indoctrination" (http://www.cato.org/dailys/11-16-01.html). Just to name a few.

So, don't give me this high and mighty bullshit about the US being too good to buy Iraqi oil. We work with people just as evil every day, and won't do a damn thing about it. Why? Because Bush is in cahoots with tha Saudi Royal family, and the $$$$$$$$.

Ha! I'm gonna laugh when we turn over the country and they democratically elect a fundamentalist muslim theoracry and be the next Iran. That'll really piss Bush off. Everyone discounts the political culture of the people we want to change..... er. ..... I mean liberate. About every country in Africa, and Russia are good examples of putting a western-style government in countries whose political culture is completely different, and watching it go to shit. THe same thing will happen in Iraq, mark my words.
