As far as I'm concerned, a true love song is sung by someone who is either desperate to keep, or desperate to attain, the love of another. Here's one I wrote for a guy who falls into the latter bracket.
I dream of what could be

For the nightmares still are there, they haunt me everywhere.

Until then I will always be alone.
I'll never be the one for you.
I've never been deceived.

it's not that, it's just that you expected people to feel the same way you feel about that song, but you have the distinct advantage of having it playing in your head. The effort is nice, but if you could at least do something so that WE can get the meaning, then it might be a good song. It's like telling someone how awesome this song on the radio was, but only remembering the song, not the artist, or the style, or even the station it was on. plus two for effort

I never got it recorded. In an arranged situation, the girl overheard the guy playing it, and they've been together for a couple of years now.
I wish apologise, my friend, that we didn't go to the recording studio - please, please forgive my heinous, heinous error.
