I don't how many of you are familiar with Wikipedia, but for those of you who aren't, I'll sum it up: Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia that allows anyone to add, edit, and view entries. I recently became re-interested with Wikipedia after it reached the 250,000 article mark, and in my fervor to look up... everything, I noticed it was sorely lacking information on a very important subject, which just happens to be another one of my favorite pastimes: Ubersite.
Considering the subjects of the other articles, from a city named Kuroishi to a list of famous Croatians, why, I wondered, has no one written an article on Ubersite? Well, probably for the same reason that I didn't and instead I went to write an Ubersite post on the lack of an entry for Ubersite on Wikipedia. Laziness.
However, I figure that together, the Ubersite community can muster up enough work ethic to piece together a substantial entry on Wikipedia, and everyone can contribute what they feel is worthy (you don't even need to make an account). What deserves to go down in the annals of Ubersite history? Drink_ddt's banning? Tuesday's banning? Squattail's banning? Donovan's Dr. Seuss post? Ubermadness? The quick success of Tom's Exploiting P2P post?
You can add whatever you feel deserves to be a part of Ubersite history. Hell, you can add yourself. Just go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubersite and click "Edit this Page."
Enjoy.

I have to disagree with you in that WIkipeida would be a "signpost." Since no articles would link to it, it's unlikely that anyone would stumble across an entry on Ubersite unless they were trying to find it. And if they were already trying to find information on Ubersite, well then, the big secret's obviously already out, isn't it?
If you can think of any reasons that people would be more liable to discover Ubersite because of a Wikipedia entry, which, mind you, has no links to it unless created by someone who knows of the existence of the article (so then they, too, know about Ubersite, and if you're really that determined in preserving the sanctity of this little secret society, then you can go and delete any links to it) and will be mentioned only on Ubersite (by me, at least), then I'd like to hear them.
Note: I feel it's worth saying that even those who camp on Wikipedia checking on recently edited entries wouldn't even be likely to attract more traffic to Ubersite, as they've already got something to do for an unlimited amount of time and they very rarely construct links unless they already know about the subject, and then they'd have to also already know about Ubersite. And I highly doubt the likeliness of a situation in which a little entry on some online forum makes the feature entry of the day.
I only intended for the article to be an amusement to Ubersite users, not information to the outside world.

No. Why the hell would you want to open a set of double doors to this place? Yes, everyone should be able to join in here, but they should have to find it on their own. Do you see how much shit is on here daily just from people who meander by? And they get here without a signpost.

We get enough casual browsers around here as it is. Übersite is PLENTY popular already. I say we keep our heads down as much as possible.

And I almost (read: did) forget to mention: you don't have to worry about all your work being deleted by the next person who comes along, because you can see what was there after each edit, so you always go back and resurrect what you wrote.
