First of all, thank you Bart for finally fixing my account. Now then...

trivia (n.) : matters or things that are very unimportant, inconsequential, or nonessential; trifles

This is a list of useless facts. Most of you have probably seen one before in an email or something (or a certain post by JP...). But this one is different. First of all, it's pretty long: 300 in total (but don't think I've got nothing better to do with my time though. This didn't take nearly as much effort as you'd think.). It might take a while to go through; it's about 8 pages altogether. But this is strictly for your ENTERTAINMENT. And you definitely haven't seen all of these.

Secondly, you can be a part of this. There may be a second edition in the future with enough suggested amendments. I know some of you are wondering if all of this is just a pile of crap. If you really think something here is bullshit, FIND OUT. If you can find any "trustworthy" source that disproves any one of these, please share it. But don't just say "you're full of crap!" I didn't make any of this stuff up. Somebody out there thinks its true (or is just pulling our legs...but why?).

Also, if you know something or find something cool that you think would fit here, SHARE IT.

I'm also willing to clear out crap/boring stuff in the next version. There are hundreds of websites and stuff out there that are much longer, but they're mostly full of junk. This list will be crap-less. This list is the BEST of all the facts you'll never need to know but want to.

I think this is only correct for the northern hemisphere,

A rectangle is an four sided object where opposing sides are the same lenght (and also all the corners are the same 90 degrees). So a square is always a rectangle, but a rectangle is not neccesary a square.

The list is now at 301 with 4 still in question. Thanks everyone for your help...which has mostly been shortening the list...oh well. There are currently 16 people to be thanked in the second edition.

hairsphincter2- a square is a rectangle, though a rectangle is not necessarily a square. sorry.

I don't know if this is interesting, but...

#51-- Solar maximum is a single point in the solar magnetic cycle, which averages 11 years but varies considerably. It's 11 years between maxima of opposite polarity; 22 years between maxima of the same polarity.

#97 (astronaut flatulence) and #210 (neonate kneecaps) are bullshit.

#6-- bonobo chimpanzees regularly fuck face to face.

Yes and no - yes every landmass is surrounded by water, but there is a diference between a continent and a landmass - North America is a continent, whereas Hawaii is an island (series of)... we learnt that one in primary school :)

Thanks a lot to those who've helped so far. Of course, it's a bit shorter now, but that won't stop me. You can't disprove them all.

I'll post a second edition when (if?) it reaches 350. I'll make sure to thank everyone who made a difference. And if anyone can think of a more attractive title, that'd be cool too.
