I'm a freshman in high school. Don't give me shit about it. Just hear me out. I come from a very affluent school district called Blue Valley. Here teenagers drive Lexus SUV's, eleven year olds have cell - phones, and the general populous regards living in a one story house as "poverty."
This subject alone I could rant about for most of the post, but that isnt even the saddest part. These are some of the stupidest, most un-motivated, bigoted people that I have ever met. I would use the term "red neck," but since they are all rich this term would not apply. Having been only exposed to the ultra right wing thinking of their parents all their lives they have had no chance to develope any of their own ideas or beliefs. Not only are they spoiled, arrogant, and rude, but they are uninformed, inarticulate, and in many of their cases mildly retarted.
Several times in my debate class, during social studies while we are discussing current events, etc. I have gotten in arguments with these people, and they have absolutely no reason why they believe what they believe. Yet they will defend their convictions, if you could call them that, to the umpth degree. They have no means to defend them, so they spew out incorrect, useless information that does not really adress the issiue at hand.
The school system here is no better. The teachers get offended when you speak anything that does not adhere with the majority thinking of the school. Once I got a detention for "questioning our government in a time of war." The school paper sensors and dulls everything in it so that left views NEVER get properly represented, if represented at all.
So the point that i'm trying to get across here is that my school district and the people in it are a disgrace to free thinking, a discrace to the education system, and a discrace to democracy everywhere. Oh, and rich people suck.

At this point in your life, everyone has unsubstantiated opinions. You're probably as judgemental as the 'right-wing authority' you fight against. Still, everyone should to have something to fight for, and though I probably won't agree with your opinions, I respect the fact that you have them. Let's just hope that you and your generation aren't going to further the left/right arguments that are beginning to cause irritating rifts.

As a freshman, you need to understand one thing that will get you through high school. Don't get into arguments. They shorten your life-span. Totally not worth it. Also, not all rich people are assholes, just the ones who didn't earn their money the hard way.
