If more than 40% of the people voted, great things could be accomplished in this country. When you look around at the people near you in your life you can see the demographic on a small scale.
I get all hyped up about politics sometimes. I need to vent about things I hear on the radio and see on TV, or read in the papers. Only about 40% of my friends seem interested enough to entertain conversation.
What's funny is that just about 100% of people you run across have opinions about politics, yet don't care enough, or are too lazy to do something about their feelings.
And you hear people complaining how the majority of America is ignored and their voices not heard. NO SHIT.

Are you getting dumber? Who didn't know four years ago that Gore had more votes. He still lost fair and square. The electoral college is there for a good reason, because of it, we have a president who can represent the majority of what the country wanted, than just a few states with large populations. Less than 40% of the population of the U.S. voted in the last presidential election. Gore did win the popular vote by a few thousand or so, big whoop. Still they both only had about 20% of the entire country voting for each of them. The liberal states like New York and California gave Gore his popular vote. If voting was mandatory, Bush would have won by a landslide.

The medicare bill passed by BUSH that was described by the BUSH haters as bullshit, is going to help save my aunt who is 78 about $300 a month on her prescriptions.
He helped prevent companies from being sued when acts of god (I know, this is a gray area) occur. This allowed small companies to obtain insurance again to help them build and grow which inturn will help reduce the unemployment rate.
