Earlier today, i found a letter in one of my drawers that i had all but forgotten about. This letter was a goodbye letter from a girl i knew at school last year (I'm now in my first year of uni), and upon reading it again today, i realised that its contents were quite disturbing.
Considering that i really didn't know this girl very well, i now feel that i might have had a potential stalker on my hands. I'm glad she's now back in mexico, on the other side of the atlantic, where she can't get at me.
The full text of the letter is below. I apologise for the fact that the english may not always flow naturally, i've tried to translate it faithfully and literally from the original spanish. Well, here goes:
Dear Anthony,
Hi, God knows when the next moment in which i will look into your eyes again will be. Gos knows when i will see you again, and when our worlds will unite.
I probably won't see you again, but, whatever happens, i want you to know that it was an honor to have known you. I hardly know you, but that which i know is sufficient to tell you that you are an intelligent person (something you already know), tender with an enormous soul and a heart which is filled with life. What a shame that you are leaving. I wish you the best for your future, your life, and i also hope that our parralel worlds will once again be intertwined under the fragile moon.
I hope you have the life you've always wanted to have. Smile, our dreams await us!!
An embrace, and i am waiting for you in my mexican lands!
Until the next time,
Pili xxx
I read this letter to one of my best buddies, and oh how we laughed! Especially at the 'fragile moon' part. However, we also agreed that the content was rather disturbing.
am i reading things into it that aren't there, or am i right in thinking there is something not normal about this letter? Luckily she's far far away. I just hope she doesn't find out that i'm going to live in Mexico for a year in 2005/06.

-1 for thinking you're good enough to have a stalker
-1 for posting it here
And people tend to idealize when they don't know things about people they like. You can be almost certain she wouldn't like many things about you. You deserve a few more -2s for laughing at her. Maybe you have never been in love, at least not in the way she had to be to write that.

Methinks the partisan doth protest too much - nothing very special about that, I think you'll find. Typical saccharine stuff straight from the pages of Teen Weekly.

No, I don't think you have a stalker on your hands, sorry to disappoint you if you really wanted one though.

Boogidy boogidy! Plus 2 Saturday!
As for the letter, most Latin women I know (having lived in Italy and Costa Rica for a time) are vetry passionate. She wouldn't stalk you, but she was in to you.
