Anyone ever noticed that "The Great Maddox" is a shitty writer? You probably have, but don't want to break the shitty taboo that seems to be in place on Uber. What the fuck? He's just a guy, and he bitches. A lot. I can bitch too, and have done, a long time before he started his website. Every single person in the world can bitch.
Point being that a lot of people don't, because bitching is a whiney shitty way to get on with your life. Oh no! My car has run out of gas! Why not write a page on my website! It'll be really cool because it'll have a black background and I'll senselessly call everyone asshats and numbnuts! That way I'll be their idol!
Bullshit. The best thing I saw Maddox write was the "Why change your car's oil when your girlfriend can do it", and that was just because there was a distinct lack of pussy whining. I'd be a happier man after reading Maddox's posts if he weren't such a fucking bitch.
Which brings me nicely to the point of this post: Everybody dislikes idiots who riposte using other people's catchphrases, or repeat things others once said. Agreed, that's fine. But why make a ceaseless line of posts simply to bitch about people saying "ookaaayy" or "alrighty"? Because he's a shitty uninspired bastard, trying to stay top of the pile by not putting his neck on the line and attacking something that obviously nobody is going to disagree with. What I disagree with however is the fact that Maddox is an ass, and people still worship him as if he farted rubies.
Maddox? To me that word is synonymous with "PUSSY".

This thread was almost certainly started in an attempt to stir up trouble, with the primary goal of getting Maddox himself to post.
I'm rating this as a -1 because I have seen better. The original post wasn't particularly strong, all it was really good for was pissing off all of the little Maddox worshipping faggots who charge headfirst at anyone who disses their pseudo-proactive God.
Maddox posted here for two reasons A) ubersucks can't flame worth shit B) He can rely on all of the brown-nosing twinks lurking in this thread to jump on his dick and back up every post he makes with an "owned" or "haha good one maddox".
He might have even pulled off a decent win here, except he fell back on the typical defense that net "celebrities" use when they are challenged. "My site is bigger than yours", "more people like me, so I am better". So why is he bitching about people who imitate Dave Chappelle when he has to wave around his fucking sorry-assed fanbase that's comprised entirely of frustrated, antisocial pricks who couldn't get laid if they jumped in a tub full of lube and slid down death row at a women's penitentiary? All of this was frickin hilarious. All the people who feel the need to defend Maddox
as if he were unable to do so himself. The people who say "I don't like Maddox either, but

I hate this apple I am eating. It has a slightly musty flavor and mealy texture as if it has been sitting around too long. This is most likely because it has been in my fridge for about one month. The skin is starting to get a loose, due to dehydration, and there are a few small bruises on it. Unless a person is famished I don't know why they would choose to eat this disgusting specimin.

There are things that maddox writes that I do not agree with or things that he writes that I find pointless, but would not bother to make a hate post about Maddox, especially not in the way you have choosen. Do you understand that by making a post about Maddox you are drawing more attention to someone that you seem to rather have people forget.
Next time before you make a hate post for someone thing about what you are doing and try to make your writing more effective. You could have used more examples of what maddox's writes that you disagree with and break down his writing skills to show what his flaws are. I am not a good writer but i would have attempted more than this.

Agitated by how many people replied to my post? Why the hell would I be? By the indication of this post's status on the most heated, it seems ive made a larger effect on the people who have seen this than if I'd made a post about kittens being fluffy.
Wrong way to go about this: I did not try and make this post get to the most heated. I was expecting a few "fuck you"s, and few "heard it before"s and then I expected it to sink to the bottom and never been seen again. Whatever, I could deal with that, at least I'd said it. I don't believe that if more people see a post its better: its not, it never is. A lot of beautiful posts have sank out of recognition. But people want something to hate, and that's why this has escalated.
Anyway, why do you think I sat at home and waited for all the replies? Why the long span of no replies from me then? I have better things to do.
On a final thought: What would have been wrong had I written this to hitwhore? It's up to the users what they choose to reply to, and out of my hands. Many people have written great posts, and I'm sure they wanted it to be read and reviewed. The point is the power to do that rests with the the users.

If someone, anyone, who puts themselves in the public eye is not entertaining, funny, talented, attractive, or of any other value to you, great. The thing about maddox that adds to his ass-kickery is that he can piss people off without going and shoving his foot up there asses. He doesn't go around telling people how much they suck, they go to him to find out how much they suck. Keys to a successful hate post.
1) Know your audience, and don't ever deliberately post something in order to go against the grain.
2) Write damned well, even moreso if you break point 1, and come up with some decent points rather than just saying "I think he's a moron for posting about morons who have stupid catchphrases". I don't agree with anything he says, and I read his stuff for that reason, and because he's fairly decent at what he does.
Oh, and even if you follow those two rules, expect to be -2ed anyway because there are people out there who don't agree with you, and most importantly, NO ONE'S OPINION WILL EVER BE CHANGED BY A POST. EVER.

i came across maddox by accident once, and that led me to bored at work and then to this cursed addictive ubersite.
maddox seemed pretty amusing with a good writing style.

Tony, to answer your question about traffic, the site gets about 1.5 million unique visitors per month, out of 4.3 million total monthly visitors. As for "hits," the site gets somewhere around 385 million hits, but as anyone knows, hits != visits.

People hating what is popular is a symbol of searching for a personal identity. You should respect that, because people go through a lot of pain and anguish to find their spirituality. Maddox, okay, I have an issue with your hit counter. Now when you say "55 million people" or whatever have visited your site...do you in reality mean your site has been viewed 55 million times? Because I don't think your hit counter is able to store that many unique IP addresses and again, I doubt 135 unique first time visitors hit your site each and every minute. I would guess that more along the lines that you have probably tens of thousands of loyal fans who page view your site several times a day. Am I correct here?
And as for the site being funny and original, much props to you. The fact that you offer updated, free, thoroughly entertaining stuff is one of the reasons the internet is actually a decent place. Other great sites that I think are in your league are http://i-mockery.com and http://cloudempire.com.

Spooner touched on the real issue here: there are a lot of morons out there who take pride in saying they were the first to like something, like my site was some huge discovery that only they knew about. They go around saying things like "I used to read his site before it was popular," like anyone gives a shit when you became a fan of something.
These people were probably never fans to begin with, and now they've moved on to the next super hip cultural phenomenon that is so underground that nobody has ever heard of it and it will never become popular, so they can have their stupid secret meetings while they give each other hand jobs with the smug satisfaction of knowing that they are part of a super elite focus group of trend setters.

I don't see what some people have against Maddox. He took a simple xmission website and got millions of people to read it, and he does it in his spare time. That's pretty awesome if you ask me.
Just because you liked his stuff before is no reason to bitch about his articles getting any worse. Just because your friends like his stuff and you don't is no reason to bitch about his writings. He never spammed you with links to his website, your friends did, so take it up with them or his many raging hardcore fans that jizz their pants everytime he posts something.
Is everything he posts funny? No, but most of it is. The difference being between Maddox, and say, Conan O'Brien, is that it is not Maddox's job to entertain your ass. He's not being paid to do his website, no one shoves it down your throat while you're just trying to watch some cartoons on TV, he holds no legal responsibilities to entertain you or your friends, and if he doesn't, no one loses anything except Maddox who's out a few bucks for hosting that he would've paid anyway.
It seems like the new "1337" thing is hating Maddox for some reason. It was bound to happen, once anything becomes excessively popular you're going to find people who start to hate it just to be rebelious.

I usually don't reply to comments like these because they're shallow attempts to blow smoke up my ass without any real merit or criticism. I made an exception this time because someone sent me the link to this thread, and I happen to have a few free minutes that I'd otherwise probably spend masturbating or thinking about masturbating.
The problem I have with with this post is that it has no teeth; that is, there is no bite behind the bark. Rather than giving an insightful critical analysis of my writing style, pointing out weaknesses in my argument and rhetorical structure (of which there are plenty), the author (and I use the word "author" loosely here, as I'm sure Ubersucks had no tacit knowledge that he was in fact the author of anything) poses the question "what the fuck?" Followed by this astute observation: "he's just a guy, and he bitches!" Bravo, your observational skills bury the needle on the obvious detecter.
You then try to validate this blurb of a post by trying to construct something that resembles an argument, stating that "I can bitch too, and have done, a long time before he started his website. Every single person in the world can bitch." Let's play the search and replace game to see if you can find parallels between this proposition, and the comment every other untalented loser says when a band they don't like makes it big. For this example, I'll replace the word "bitch" with "play an instrument" and "website" with "band." Here are the results:
"I can play an instrument too, and have done, a long time before he started his band. Every single person in the world can play an instrument."
Sound familiar? That's because it's the classic "so-and-so isn't doing anything special, I could do the same just as good if not better blah blah blah [insert futile pissing contest because you're unable to prove it with actions]."
Good show Ubersucks, everyone can bitch indeed. The difference, however, is that when other people bitch, they usually end it with "that just sucks!" Wow, how deep. Joe Nobody thinks something sucks, let's all tune in! Nevermind the fact that most people who bitch fail to articulate themselves, form theses, original art and dialogue, and even fail to choose an interesting topic on the most basic level.
