For those who really do think intelligently, this isn't aimed at you.
I've decided to just tell you people that I have been disappointed with this site. My post are just asking for a little intelligence in a response, but all I get are some dumb assed remarks from every one. There are some exceptions, like JW. He actually thinks before he post a response. Unlike many others...
I was hoping that this site would be different from other sites like this one. I was hoping that people on this site would be capable of more then just "its not funny so -2".
People have told me over and over again that Uber is what we make it. Well it looks like 4 year olds made Uber.
I will say that this site has some promise of a good future, besides a junk hole for immature Internet junkies, if people would realize not all post are meant to be funny. If they were then there would be no need for the humor prefix that you can put on a post.
Some of you are really into this site, and good for you. But I fail to see how Uber is made by the regestered. It all depends on who has the bigest reputation. Thats just sad...
I probably wont be back to this site for a long time. I hope its different when I come back and there are more intelligent people on this site.

Youve been here less than a month dude,it took me ages before I wrote a post that got a positive rating, it just takes a while to fall into your own style
mine for example is poorly worded anecdotes about how women hate me or a poorly worded, badly thought out ubercaption competition.
Also -2 cos your not funny AHHAHAHHAHHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHA Im lieing, im only -1ing you

I think you are expecting too much too soon. As a relatively new member here, I think I feel you a little bit. My first posts were rated by about 15 people tops. Not because they were no good, because I wasn't known. The last few I have written have been very well recieved. More people are getting to know me, so more people are clicking on posts that I write. People here think I am good. They think what I write is good. (by the way, thanks everyone who says that!) But that didn't happen right away. Actually, it happened even quicker than I expected. And as I wrote the first few posts, yeah it was a little discouraging, I got a few smartasses, none of the "elite" were commenting, my average rating wasn't all that great... but I kept plugging along, working at it, trying to post better stuff. I have posted everyday for two weeks just to try to get my name on the page and seen. It's been working. The more my name is there, the more people see it. The more people who see it, the more people who rate it. And as you go along, people start to get a picture of who you are. What you write about, what you believe. And they start to relate to you. You can not expect a site with 7000+ users to immediately recognise and welcome a new poster and say "Oh gee, he's great!" You have to earn your stripes, and pay your dues, just like with anything else.
My first post - 23 reviews, rating: 0.82
My second post - 15 reviews, rating: 0.72
17 posts later - 144 reviews, rating: 1.88
You have posted 9 times. It's too soon yet to quit. Keep plugging along. The people who are on MVA, the people who get lots of attention and are considered the "elite" have posted hundreds of times.
I mean.... you wouldn't expect to go into Universal studios and say "I want to make a movie and I want you to pay me 40 million dollars, just like Mel Gibson." Of course not, they'd laugh at you and send you home. It's the same thing here. You have to work at it, keep going, and make a name for yourself. Just like everything else.

I think you shouldn't care what people think of your posts. Theres plenty of good posts on here with negative ratings. Likewise theres some posts that are pure shit but manage to keep a positive rating. Who really gives a shit? If you like what you write then why care what other people say out it? If your gonna leave ragnarok, go out with a bang. go to every post on the front page and -2 it to hell. Make every post have a negative rating. Why? why ruin other peoples shit? Because if you can't become as good as someone else, make them as bad as you.

I'm not going to be a complete asshat and contribute to the -2ing, simply because I gave you enough shit in the Love-Hate post. But I am going to give you some perspective on things:
You're correct in saying that not everything has to be serious. I write serious works myself, and I think I'm safe in saying most of them were good (Refer to my Intuition series). Unfortunately, what you fail to realize is that the people of Uber generally don't like to discuss things. You would have to write a pretty kickass article in order to generate positive reviews if you're trying to start a discussion.
Using your Love-Hate article as an example, the idea of Love vs Hate is too general. On top of that, almost everybody has considered the question in their lifetime anyway, so it wasn't particularly intriguing on any level.
Now, a creative approach to the Love-Hate topic could have been a short story. In this case, it could possibly be a fantasy work. Then, leave the ending for the reader to decide: Who wins? Love or Hate? This method would have generated a more positive response, rather than posing the question directly.
What I'm trying to say is that people here on Uber want to read something different. If we read something thought-provoking and entertaining, we'll +2 it. Hell, if it's really good, it will be immortalized on B@W. You'll always get an ass who -2s it for the fuck of it, but hey, that's life.
I took my lumps for my first 20 or so articles. I even wrote a shitty one recently, and it still has a negative score. But do I complain about how nobody understands my perspective on things?
No. I'm going to put this to you bluntly, Rag:
Suck it up, take your -2s like a man, and try and improve. That's the only way you'll be able to want to stay here.

we don't -2 because it's not funny. we -2 because it's just stupid.

My dumb remarks go on every post, sometimes I don't feel like explaining why a post is good or not, so I just put a dumb remark and what I felt it deserved. In your case, a -2.

Yeah, man, your posts are "deep". Shit, the one about whether love or hate was stronger threw me for a fuckin' LOOP, man. That's some challenging and relevant shit. Pass the doritos.
You're a pretentious, uncreative dipshit who drived his username from TWO VIDEO GAMES.
You're worthless, so you know what that means:
Start a blog in which you regularly complain about Mom embarassing you and not giving you any independence! That'll show 'er!

I don't like when people downplay the importance of a reputation. It is something that takes a very long time to build and is usually earned rightfully. I will read Jared's posts because I see his name next to the title whereas someone new may not get my time. The reason for this is my own entertainment. I am almost assured a good post when I read Jared's but not so much for the new guy. He has spent a long time writing on this site building a reputation and even he didn't get too many hits in the beginning. Nobody starts out getting a ton of hits and good reviews right away.
