Lots of good politics posts out, debates raging everywhere on Iraq, the abuse, and the retaliations...

And I am too tired, and too worn out to comment anymore.
1 week prior.
3 weeks here.
3 months in, 4 more to go.
You disintegrate, body, mind, and spirit.
Think I'll take a break, stop watching news, stop listening to whats going on.

I'm sorry you have to go through this. I'm sorry that anyone has to... I'm sorry that we are all human, and therefore subject to error.

Stupid wars.

Stupid humanity.

Hold on to whatever you need to, mentally, to get you through this, ole boy.

Loki: yes, I've been to Joshua Tree. The park's north gate is right at 29 Palms, which is the Marine Corp's combined air-ground task force training grounds. I've spent several weeks out there.
It gets cold out there though, and it actually rained and snowed in the higher elevations around the park.

Ironic that you send me links to a desert in the desert. Different kind though.

Hey Monty, wanna talk about something else?

I'm going camping next month. We were thinking Tamarack so we could do the El Capitan hike again, but it's not going to be open so we're thinking Boundary Peak. God help me, I'm in with a peak bagger who cannot resist any elevation over 10,000 feet.

Sure the US government would never stoop to restricting free speech, just like they would never commit treason by outing a CIA operative because her husband debunked one of their little lies.

Flak:
I accused you of suppressing dissent, which is what you do every time you label someone anti-American. Calling someone unpatriotic for having an opinion that is either dissenting or, for that matter, different than yours is about as anti-American as it gets.

Still not comment from you addressing the fact that your sentiments echo that of the Nazi. You're right to skip the points that you can't respond to.

Nice work Flak you blame me for liberal bias and yet you have swallowed hook, line, and sinker the bullshit rhetoric of the right wing. You tell me this, where are the WMD's? Where is the threat that Sadam posed to the US? Why are we over there? You tell me.

I personally am far more threatened by the Bush administration than anything Sadam could dream of doing. This is all about freedom, well bullshit. They are not over there protecting our freedom, they are over there because Bush managed to get suckers like you to fall for his crap. I hold him personally responsible for everything that has happened in Iraq. If Monty so much as gets a paper cut its Bush's fault. Oh but lest I forget, Bush is a Christian and therefore blameless.

The only reason there is Al Quada in Iraq is because of this war. Jesus christ in a blender don't you get your news from anything other than faux?

Right. The liberal bias. The easy excuse for everything. The built in scapegoat that absolves Bush of responsibility for anything, because, of course, the media is just spinning in that way. The idea of a liberal media is a myth.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The idea that the Whitehouse is somehow suppressing dissent is a myth. Perhaps you are having trouble with comprehension.

The words of someone actually fighting there. By your definition, these sentiments make him anti-American.

Loki, you said:
"So sad that "spreading freedom and democracy" to the world apparently means suppressing the voice of dissent."

How has your "voice of dissent" been suppressed? It sure seems like the slack-jawed liberal spin machine is working overtime. The major networks aren't chomping at the bit to find anything that will help bring down Bush, are they? It's amazing how the Bush Whitehouse has shut them down.

You also said:
"I'm sorry Monty but Bush is a war criminal and should be turned over to the Hague."

What war crimes has he perpetrated? Or is this just more liberal spin? What other parts of American sovereignty would you hand over to a world government? How about the UN? They did such a bang-up job with the Oil for Food program. It's no wonder they fought so hard to continue the sanctions against Iraq. After all it's all about the oil, right? Who cares if innocent Iraqis are dying from starvation and lack of medicine due to UN sanctions or at the hand of a brutal dictator? As long as it's just Arabs dying and a liberal is in office it's all ok with you. How dare a Republican actually take steps to stop this by putting American blood on the line? After all, there was no Al Qaida in Iraq (except for those 5 or 6 guys that are chopping off heads). Right, Loki?

Yes I'm afraid that Flak is lock step in line with the traitors who have turned us into a country of oppressors. So sad that "spreading freedom and democracy" to the world apparently means suppressing the voice of dissent. One has to wonder what freedom they are trying to protect, I suppose the freedom to agree with the administration.

I'm sorry Monty but Bush is a war criminal and should be turned over to the Hague.

Despite what morons like Flak say, having objections to the war on Iraq by no means represents an anti-American or anti-Military viewpoint. Take care of yourself and hang in there.

And I hate to even give any more credence to someone like Flak, but honestly, it is people like him, that make comments suggesting anti-Patriotism, that creates the rifts in this country. It is a terrrible thing to say.

"Naturally the common people don't want war neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."

-Hermann Goering

Congrats, Flak... you have echoed the sentiments of a Nazi.
