Nick Berg gets executed by Iraqis, we see the tape, we're angry and upset. Fair enough - it's a terrible thing, very disturbing to watch. Just don't think that these Iraqis are somehow more fucked up than the coallition forces, please.
I'm sick of hearing people bitch about Iraqis or Arabs, saying that it's totally barbaric and inhumane to kill people like that. I agree that Nicholas Berg and those like him didn't deserve to die and the way in which they died was horrible, but just think about all the Iraqi children who were in the numerous hospitals bombed in this war. That's just one example and I won't go on further, but keep it in mind.
It seems a lot worse because we SAW him die, it was a brutal death and he really didn't deserve to die... but that's how I'd describe the children and sick civillians who lay dying slowly in the rubble of bombed hospitals and homes. If only we had tapes of those deaths I think the world would have stopped this war a long time ago.

Good point.
I watched a documentary that included all the footage that was shot but not allowed on British TV.
One image showed a young iraqi boy of nine or ten with the back of his head missing. He lay there, eyes closed as if asleep and you could see the hollow of where his head should have been.
It was one of the saddest things I have ever seen on TV.
Wars not pretty. It never has been. People die... people also get very messed up about what is right and what is wrong.
Seeing people dying all over the place would warp my senses too.

If you get Al Jazeera, like most of the Arabic speaking world does, you WOULD see the Iraqi children in hospitals every day. CNN usually shies away from that. Who knew?

Nee, kakhuis, nee ook nee.
This is not about America as a nation, but some Americans as people; don't be a fool.
That kind of shit is not sensible, helpful or sane.
