Lucy and me, we love to watch. The best thing about apartment living is the watching.
Those with their blinds and curtains always open - the exhibitionists.
Those with their windows always covered - the voyeurs.
We love to watch, but it's even better when you know their watching.
There's a guy who lived across from us, one level down. Cute.
One of us would lie on the floor with the binoculars, while the other would give a massage. He knew we were looking. We learned all there was to his life, this way, just watching. We love cute guys.
We weren't really interested in him until we noticed him watching us back.
We would dare each other to walk around in the nude or do bizarre things for his benefit. Once in a while, the three of us would be watching each other, with us sometimes even fucking while he looked on. We love kink.
Once in a while he would hold up a drawing for our approval and we'd always hold up some centrefold from a skin magazine. At least he would laugh. We love laughter.
There are lots of things that go on in these places that you just don't expect to be witness to. There's nothing sexy about catching sight of domestic violence or witnessing a break-in and not knowing which apartment number to tell the police.
We hate the police.
For a day and a half we watched for signs of movement from him, nothing.
Who knew this guy would kill himself?
That was awful, he seemed so content, so happy. He never looked bored.
We were both at work when they took his body away, and his blinds were all shut.
We hate closing the blinds.
