Humor is undoubtedly the largest factor to consider when writing a story and submitting it to the public. Judging by the stories that have recieved the most hits, humor plays the largest role in drawing in people. The reason for its popularity is because its an escape from the world, a reason to laugh at something when so many horrible things are going on.

Undeniably humor plays a major role in most successful submissions to Ubersite, yet there is another kind of topic that seems to be becoming ever more popular - stories that mainly use drama as its theme.

Most of the dramatic stories submitted are liked by many people and often the authors become popular such as in the case of lojope. Her writings are often quite good, Hot Carl has submitted some very good stories as well, yet rarely do their stories get the number of hits they deserve. I admit, after reading a sad story I'm not too inclined to pass it around for my friends to read, nor is Bart likely to post it on bored at work where it would more than likely draw a bigger crowd and get the recognition it often deserves. I've read many many good stories on Ubersite yet after a day most stories fade into obscurity and people rarely dig back to recover them and bring them back up for more people to see. It isn't easy to write stories that deal with the more painful sides of life, and most people simply couldn't do it. I for one could never write a story that dealt with the more serious issues in life, yet there is a definate need for them. People try to ignore the many problems with the world and we often choose not to associate with people who have been hurt, who are feeling down, the people who need others the most. Ubersite can change that, and thats why it's so popular.

Ubersite is great in that it allows people to communicate to others who they may never would have had they met face to face, it allows people to post how they truly feel. Most people don't talk about how they are really feeling or what they are really thinking in places other than the internet because they may be scared of what others will say, Ubersite (for the most part) is accepting of peoples views that they express in their writings.

Yes, there are many people who come to ubersite just to harass people and to dish out a plethora of -2's to be assholes. While it sucks to be subjected to people like that, Ubersite allows you to explore everyones view on things and I for one am glad to be able to read a site where all the people aren't required to get along, or to "be nice." After all, many a great story has spawned from the disagreement of another individuals post.

http://www.ubersite.com/m/32096 <--- 354 hits, yet one of the best stories ever submitted to ubersite, go read it.

That is all.

It's ok. Thank you for the compliment. And thanks for linking to a story of mine. I am glad that you thought it was good. But it's ok if I don't have tons of hits. I don't mind. I love the comments I do get. And I have a sort of little intimate group of fans I am rather attached to. They are great. And they are growing, hehehehe...

Thank you so much for being so nice. I appreciate it. :o)

Indeed.. so many stories are being submitted every day that its probably impossible to read every one.. unless you lead a very boring life. Thats the worst part of ubersite, really good stories get overlooked alot of the time..

I agree, but I also get these knee jerk reactions when people are like "this author is awesome," "this post is awesome." I am mostly just disgruntled because I think my posts are consistently good, but rarely get the hits. I've kind of resigned myself to that, so when people post about "gee, guys, you should really look at __________, because ___________ never gets noticed as much," my reaction is just usually something like, "Yeah, and?"

Hi. I've been here a while. I know what to do.

Thanks though.
