I knew it when I talked to him on the phone.
I knew he was not the same.

I know I was miles away and you were in my home, my territory.
I didn't know who you were but
I knew someone was trying to replace me.

When I stepped through my front door
I knew you had been there

I know you cooked him dinner.
You slept on the sheets I washed.
You saw my clothes lying around and my toothbrush by the sink.

Everything in my home was a reminder of you
and angered me repeatedly.

I know I subjected him to grueling questions and hateful remarks.
He suffered, but you never did.

I knew you would hide out from me.
You knew I would give you more than verbal hell.

I know you needed a father for your children.
He was still learning how to be what his father never was for him.
I know he realized he had enough on his plate.

I came away with something and for that I can't entirely hate you.

I know we are only human.
I can forgive him.
I will never forget.
I know the rough times are what makes us inseperable now.

If only you knew.

Hmm, not bad. Unlike everybody else on this site, I like poetry, so I'll give you a 2 to help combat them. ;) Also, it really was a cool theme. It flows well too.

Your automatic -2 on poetry is different. You are negetiving (is that a word?) it soley because it is poetry. Not because it is crappy poetry, or mediocre poetry. Just because that is the genre of writing it is.

All poetry is crappy in my mind... Therefore I give a -2.

Oh and thanks RB for at least putting zero on the second one.

"If it's bad I figured I could resort to posts with orgasm in the title again"

something tells me i should have bestowed this post with more flammage than an episode of queer guy. oh yeah, its this quote

I would have seen through it. Plus I'm fresh outta porn stories.

That's what I mean, tho, RB. There is a difference between this and reading something that has a negative review, and then giving it a negative rating. Even though you knew you'd probably give it a negative going into it, eventually the negative came because you thought it sucked, not because it was already in the negatives when you got to it.

That's like saying, From now on I am going to -2 any post that starts with the word "The" no matter what the context is, skill-level is, not based on whether or not it is humorous or anything. Just because it starts with "The" it will get a -2 from me. That would be pretty silly.

But you are correct, it is your right to do so if you choose. But it is also my right to express my disapproval. You don't have to care that I disapprove, but it's my right to tell you that I do.

RB don't be like that. If you don't like poetry why don't you just not read it?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You know, i never understood that type of reply to when somebody rates something a certain way. Why read it? Why not? I see tons of posts that have -2 ratings on them before i read and yet i read them anyway. Just because i know i wont like something, doesnt mean i wont try. You never know when you can be surprised.

As for my logic for the -2 on poetry constantly, there is no. No logic at all. No rhyme or reason. I have no dislike or ill will for the author, or even for the subject matter. I'm 100% completely and totally illogical, the one thing that truely defines my freedom in this world.

Sorry, but dems da breaks!

Thanks conrad. I sat down with time to spare but once I broke out the pen and paper, then my feelings led the way.

Thanks Tripin...I don't know about brave..just giving it a shot. If it's bad I figured I could resort to posts with orgasm in the title again.

There should be a poetry icon...

I hate clicking on something and it ends up being poetry. I'm not as hardcore with the -2's.

Double posting poetry, equals double -2s.

Sorry, but i have to stick to my principals.

Much better. The ending was considerably more satisfying, and the whole thing more psychologically rounded. A nice revision, particularly given the short space of time in which it was done!

sleep than stuff dollar bills into some stranger's G-string.
