Could someone please explain to me (without calling me a missinformed assohole please) exactly why so many heterosexual people are so against gay marriage? He're is my arguement:
You are not gay, and if you feel so against gay marriage, you will probably never have a gay relationship. Why does it matter to you if gay people get married.
Common statement:gay guys molest little boys more then straight men (which I suppose would mean that gay guys dont deserve to have the privilages of marriage?) This is a myth. I dont know the exact stat, but if anyone cares to challenge me on this I can find it and name my source for ya. But straight men are several times more likely to molest children than gay men are.
If you want to make the point that it's banned in the bible, go ahaid. But I have to ask, do you believe that women should be subservient to men, or that men have an obligation to marry the widdowed wife of their dead brother, or that any type of sexual activity (including masterbation and oral sex) that doenst produce children is wrong. If you are going to condemn homosexuality based on the bible, than I really cant think why you should ignore other parts of the Bible. Of course, if you DO exactly follow every proscription of the Bible, I respect your dedication. I couldnt live like that.
Gene Robinson, the first openly gay bishop ordained, talked at my school about his position on homosexuality and the Bible. I think his perspective is interesting: He believes that the Bible is the WORD of God, not the exact WORDS of god. He also talked about how several of the passages of the Bible that involve homosexuality involve other principles that today we would still disagree with. For instance, one (I couldnt tell you exactly which) discusses homosexual relations between a mentor and his young pupil, which was obligatory. This is child molestation, which no one would say is right.
Just to put this in a little personal perspective, I am heterosexual, but I know several people who are gay/lesbian/questioning. I cant help it if people post calling me a fag, but I ask anyone who wants to respond to please come up with a logical counter arguement. If you call me gay, does that mean you just can't think of one?

I -2ed this because I am sick and tired of hearing about gays and marriage. I am sure that I will -2 this again at some other time just to make my point. The bible thing is played out. If your fudge-packing and carpet munching friends want to tie the knot, all the power to them. As for logic, I have never heard of gays molesting children more than straight people. Although, I think that child molesters belong in a category of their own. Anysway... I am gonna kick it up a notch with a little -2...BAM!

The US government engeneered AIDS (stands for Arse-Injected-Death-Syndrome) to wipe out to queers; but because gays are greedy, medacious itinerants, they will fuck anything thats still warm (with or without a heartbeat) they passed it onto god-fearing paragonic heterosexuals.

Many people see marriage as a religious ceremony. And most world religions condemn homosexuality. Personally, i'm not too bothered either way.
