The Strat has a unique sound, one that you can only get from a Strat, and is definitely something every guitar player should have in their repertoire. That being said, it is the most one dimesnional sounding guitar out there. They have no balls whatsoever, and you're pretty much stuck with the same tone all the time. Again, it's a great sound, but it's just not flexible enough to be your only axe if you play multiple styles of music. I could play my Les Paul with virtually anything.
For the record, I do not have a Strat, I won't until I can get a good deal on a US one. I do however have a tele and a twin reverb. Both great for getting a specific sound, but not much else.

I live in California, and I've been to Arizona. It's not that bad once you get used to all the rocks being red and the sun being twice as big.
Girl Next Door was good. Way better than American Pie 3 at least.
