Recently there have been a spate of resignations from Ubersite and I guess the serial resignation of Shandy has highlighted this to me.
Then of course there was the resignation last week of Jeff Jasa. Who I hear you ask? Indeed who because there are three types of resignations that I have been able to categorize.
The first is the resignation of 'long term' posters who have a change of personal circumstance or just run out of things to say. Sometimes these resignations are short term like Yidele and sometimes they are permanent.
These resignations are treated with honor and uberstate funeral reverence.
The other form of resignation is the dummy spit resignation of the likes of (2468) mrblonderd03, and (8761) Jeff Jasa. These peeps were around a very short time and then leave with a "everyone hates me nobody loves me" posting.
The third is the quasi resignation such as has happened to (2257) Jessica Bergman, and (8028) mermaidnz. These girls posted 7 and 4 times respectively. They got totally slagged here at uber (understandably I might add) and then disappeared from our screens......forever?
Now if you have a look at these girls' stats they were particularly enviable really. From Jessica's 7 posts she had amassed 7815 hits and a 0.00 rating. Ok the fact that most of those hits were telling her that she was an over toasted ugly whore that wrote like a fourteen year old probably did little for her self esteem.
So for all you newbies thinking about putting up your first post, check out the posts by these writers and prepare yourself for the comments you are going to get. Then if you do not have a thick enough skin to stay the distance don't waste our time by posting and whining about how badly you have been treated.
We don't fucking care so fuck off and die.

When someone spits their dummy it is like the second part of the title.
It is an irrational form of losing ones temper and cool.
Like 'you are not playing fair and you all hate me and so I am taking my bat and ball and going home and then you will all not be able to play blah blah.'
Ok another example an engineer I work with won the spat dummy award for a project I was working on. He lost his temper about something trivial, picked a chair up above his head and hurled onto the floor smashing it and then stormed out shouting "we'll see about that!"
That was a dummy spit of legendary proportions.
