Hello I am new here so here goes...

OK...EXPLAIN THIS TO ME, PLEASE, SOMEONE...
So now that little old Jeff, a struggling, white college student is the minority in California; I don't have 7 children, my mother is not a Cuban prostitute, and I still have all of my bodily appendages attached, WHY CAN'T I AFFORD THE EDUCATION THAT I DESERVE?
Affirmative action? Ha! More like reverse discrimination. Whenever one of my friends or family wants to find me at one of these Asian-Invasion campuses in Mexifornia, they just look for the only blonde-headed, blue-eyed guy in the sea of "minorities".
If you go to a California accredited college, you will find numerous organizations and services designed specifically to benefit "minorities". If you qualify, they'll help you pay for your tuition, books, cost of living, day care and many other services.
BUT-If you are a regular old white boy from rural California and you walk onto the campus, you're trying to figure out how to pay between $500 and $5000 per semester. Ok, so you can fill out a buttload of paperwork, just to find out that because you weren't working the fields in the last six months or you don't have an illegitimate child with the Dean of Admissions, you have to take out a loan on your life to pay for it.
All I'm trying to say is that maybe now the tables will turn. Now that the caucasian population makes up less than half of all the people in this yuppie state, maybe programs will pop up that will help the new white minority.

Haha, My_dixie_wrecked, I was waiting for someone from Florida to respond to this. You have absolutely no excuse to complain. The Florida Bright Futures Scholarship pays for 75% of tuition if you get it. It's pretty easy to get. It is something like 3.0 GPA, and I don't even remember any other requirements. I read on a newspaper a while ago about an administrator from one of those Californian universities saying how the Florida scholarships are "the biggest middle class giveaway in history."
I don't expect everyone to get the full 100% tuition scholarship(with $600 for books), but that is also something available to EVERYONE. (The requirements are like 3.5 GPA, 75 community service hours, 1280 SAT or 28 ACT, 5 AP/CLEP/IB tests)

fuck that, I agree whole-heartedly. I applied for financial aid at Broward Communtiy College and was rejected. A friend of mine has a full scholorship based soley on him being cuban. I pay about 800 in tuition and about 250 in books per semester. He pays zero. I agree with helping out struggling people, but race shouldn't be an issue.

Im a white guy who lives in an upper middle class community in California. I go to a stater university and I could pay for college myself or hell even my parents agree to pay for my college, however I took the time to fill out the paperwork and made the state pay for it. I don't understand why it is so hard for you to get funding. Maybe it is because you suck.

Ok, that's a funny sentence. I doubt, however, that the minorities have it so well-offed that you purport it to be.

Boo Fucking Hoo for the poor white man. You know, with all the grants and loans that the government offers you have to either fairly wealthy or really fucking dumb not to be able to get financial aid at any state university. Not to mention all of the possible scholarships a person can get. So continue to blame everybody else because you can't pay for college, I'm sure there's somebody who gives a shit.
