Hello Calagary,
Seems like your team did a little better than ours (The HABS). You're now playing against the team who ousted ours, the Lightning n00bs ! This team wouldn't be worth much if it weren't for their 2 french-canadian stars (St-Louis, Lecavalier), which really adds to the insult.
It's been ten years since a canadian team made it into the finals. I say it's time to take the cup back home. It's been a rough years for us Canadians. Our southern neighbor blamed us for terrorism, SARS, mad cow and sometimes bad weather. We didn't fight these harmful allegations back then - because it's hard to speak up with an american penis stucked deep throat - but now we can retake some of our honor and bring this baby back on Canadian [empty] soil.
If you win this, I promise sending beer money to the first guy I meet from Calgary on Über.
On a somewhat related note, I came across an old CD in my office yesterday. On it there is tiny bits of tunes that my roomate recorded when I jammed with my 2 Calgarian roomates. One 'played' the turntables, another the wimpy beatbox and I played the guitar. It's nothing great since it's not my music style, I had just met these guys and was english shy. It's not recorded very loud so turn it up. Hope it gets through...

This is actually an answer to the "Why are canadian teams broke?" question. The reason is taxes and currency. A> canuck currency sucks, it's like 10000 to one USD or whatever. B> taxes: EACH team in Canada is taxed out the ass, more than ALL THE TEAMS IN THE US COMBINED. Yes, that includes like, the Rangers and the Kings and the Blacawks. Edmonchuck pays more than all 26 of them combined, Calgary pays more than all 26 of them combined, etc. It's pretty hard to be decent when your government taxes the national pasttime like it's a prison bitch.

As a Canucks fan, I feel your pain. But when the Flames actually win the cup, won't that be cool? my policy is like this; Hockey is war. I was defeated by Calgary, and therefore must now cheer for them until I win a cup or get taken prisoner again.
