I got a call from the U.S. Army today.
Apparently I just may be needed back on active duty.
My options, if the recall should become definite:
1. Iraq.
2. Prison.
3. Kiss a man with tongue in front of an Army Official.
4. Hide under my bed.
5. Chop off my trigger finger.
The college life was just too good to be true I guess. I hope I don't get recalled. But if I do, I choose. . .
Iraq. In fact I don't think its a choice at all. What do you think?

Number three is clearly the correct choice. Andy says he'll do you a "favor" just this once, and I'm allowed to watch.

The argument I was having with Loki was not about the purposes of the Iraqi War (which are debateable in their own right.) If you'll check back and read a little more carefully then you did the first time, you'll see that the argument was about Clinton being a draft dodger.

Look Quart, its the fact that Bush and Cheney are sending young men like Drink off to die in war (I hope I didn't just jinx you their...) for a frivolous cause. When Clinton send the US soldiers abroad he did it for practical purposes not wars dealing largely with oil.

Good luck, and thanks. Brings a bit of perspective to my workday spent
at Uber pouring over and reviewing endless, usually frivolous (good or bad) posts.
+2 for your nutsak.
+2 for the grunts of the US military.

Yeah Loki, they lifted the stop loss right before I got out, now its in place again. But this is altogether a different issue as I'm a member of the Inactive Ready Reserve until 2007. Basically I'm subject to recall to active duty at any time regardless of whats going on with my life in the real world.

But if you do go...I will round up panties from all the hot chicks I know.
And will mail them to you.
Are panties part of package restrictions to Iraq??
Maybe if we sent panties now...you could wear a pair during the hot man kiss!!

**but apparently you do have a problem with Clinton getting an education deferment?**
Check back. Did I say word one about Clinton getting education deferments? No, my comments were about his 'relocating' to avoid the draft, and smoking the dope. Try to stay on message here darlin'.
You're going to have to make up your mind about whether or not deferments are a good thing, too. If they are a justification for Clinton's behaviour, they can't really be thrown at ChEney as a bad thing. Can't have your cake and eat it too.
**Do you have any concept of the meaning in the word "hypocrite"? I'm just asking because you are the one who brought this up.**
I never said anything about hypocrisy, all I did was ask a question. If your answer weakens and or destroys your argument or brings up uncomfortable thoughts, thats your business.
**Maybe you, not being a US citizen are not familiar with this concept**
First of all, there is no need for nasty personal comments. The circumstances of my birth have absolutely no bearing on the matter under discussion.
**but we have a system here where everyone is equal under the law.**
Now who is being naive? If we're all equal under the law, why didn't Ted Kennedy serve even a tiny bit of time for being drunk and criminally negligent in the matter of the death of Mary Jo Kopechne? Do you think that if OJ had been a poor 7-11 clerk he'd be walking around a free man today?
**There is no ruling class.**
You might want to point this gem out to the aforementioned Kennedys, who don't seem to share your views. Or the Rockefellers. Or Morgan's family. Or the Carnegies.

"3. Kiss a man with tongue in front of an Army Official."
Wait.. I thought that was the Air Force and the Navy..
And, besides, wouldn't that violate Don't Ask Don't Tell and get you thrown out of the Army? And, thus, avoid serving in Iraq? Sounds like a sweet deal. They'd probably wouldn't make you if you just bluffed and pretended like you were going to..

So let me see if I follow this correctly Quartermain, you are saying that you do not have a problem with a rich little spoiled piece of shit using daddy's money and influence to avoid military service, but apparently you do have a problem with Clinton getting an education deferment? I'm supposed to let it go that Bush is AWOL and Chaney is a lying snake in the grass, but you are free to bring up the fact that Clinton did not go to Vietnam with impunity.
Do you have any concept of the meaning in the word "hypocrite"?
I'm just asking because you are the one who brought this up.
Maybe you, not being a US citizen are not familiar with this concept but we have a system here where everyone is equal under the law. There is no ruling class.

**but most of them show up for duty unlike Dubya**
I believe this issue has already been put to rest by the rest of the country, so we'll just leave that be.
**and most of them do not magically jump over thousands of people on the wait list to get in a mere 12 days before they lose their student deferment.**
Have you ever used 'connections' or 'I know a guy' or a friend or a relative to ease your way through life? Anybody ever 'owed you a favour' that you collected on later? Ever got a few bennies because of who you were or who you knew rather than what you did? It's like masturbation, 98% of people will admit to having done it and the other 2% are liars.
I'm sure there were a few people who thought that what you used wasn't 'fair' as well. But somehow when something is done on the President's behalf thirty years ago, its a bad bad thing and he should be reviled for the rest of his life.
**Chaney had FIVE deferments, oh yes he did.**
The mere fact that ChEney got deferments is nowhere as damning as you seem to think it is. Like I said, he was not the only person to receive a deferment, or even multiple deferments. To be worth anything in the argument, you would have to show that not only was he granted an abnormal amount of deferments vis a vis the average deferment seeker, but you would also have to show that each and every one that he did receive was undeserved.

**A** deferment?
Chaney had FIVE deferments, oh yes he did. Apparently he had "other priorities". Yea I'm pretty sure that everyone drafted back then had other priorities too, what they didn't have were political connections oh and money.
National Guardsmen do a service to the country, but most of them show up for duty unlike Dubya and most of them do not magically jump over thousands of people on the wait list to get in a mere 12 days before they lose their student deferment.

**Yea Quartermain, he doesn't have a rich, politically connected daddy so he can't run away to Texas to hide out, drink, and pretend to be a cowboy. Oh maybe your talking about the wide variety of deferments that Chaney got.**
You can try telling National Guardsmen that what they do isn't service to their country, but I'll pass, thanks. As for ChEney, I forgot that he was the only person in America who was of eligible age to serve who sought or got a deferment for anything, thanks for clearing that up.

Good luck man, I just got home from the bars with a buddy of mine that is in Spokane right now on pre-deployment leave. They're shipping him off on the twelfth.
One thing to remember. Make plans now for when you get back. Don't even think of it as an if thing. Make plans for a huge bash with everyone you know and love. Even if you don't know when it will be, make the plans now so that you have something to look forward to.
And may whatever Deity you believe in not be pissed off at you.

CATAL being witnessed engaging in homsexual acts most certainly does provide cause for a chapter out of the Army--trust me I've processed a ton of them. Its the mere proclamation of being gay that people try and fail to get kicked out with.

Before you ask, the green thing on my ID tags is the Army Values card, part of the required uniform. LDRSHIP is the acronym used to remember the values: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal courage.
If I do get recalled, those bastards are buying me a whole new set of uniforms because I sure as shit sold all mine.
