Mark Grieb threw five touchdown passes and ran for another score as the San Jose SaberCats defeated the Chicago Rush in an AFL Semifinals Playoff game, 49-35, at HP Pavillion in San Jose, Calif. The win sends San Jose to ArenaBowl XVIII on June 27.

Mayor Richard M. Daley and his wife, Maggie, have decided to purchase a condominium in a new luxury high-rise overlooking one of the biggest and most controversial developments of his 15 years in office--Millennium Park. The move is aimed, at least in part, at downsizing, sources familiar with the couple's plans said Friday. The move will allow the mayor the convenience of walking a few short blocks from home to his City Hall office, but it will come at the cost of depriving him of a cherished title: South Sider. The tower, now under construction, is on Randolph Street, two blocks north of Madison Street--the city's dividing line between north and south.
Though the mayor technically may be about to enter the realm of North Sider-dom for the first time in his 62 years, his baseball allegiance is not expected to change. Daley was at Wrigley Field on Friday and even was spotted wearing the team's distinctive blue cap. But the move north of Madison is not expected to shake a loyalty that was cemented as he grew up in Bridgeport in the shadow of the old Comiskey Park and that remained after he moved to the South Loop's Central Station neighborhood 11 years ago. Daley is a rock-solid White Sox fan, and he says so every time he gets the chance.
The tony 57-story tower that the Daleys plan to call home is just west of the Chicago Cultural Center at 130 N. Garland Ct. Garland is a single-block street between Michigan and Wabash Avenues that runs between the center and the new high rise. Called the Heritage at Millennium Park, the building has 356 units, including two-bedroom, two-bath models in the $700,000 price range; three-bedroom, three-baths costing about $1 million; and penthouses ranging from $2.5 million to $2.8 million.
