"I've lost at love before
got mad and closed the door
but you said try, just once more"

It kept calling to him and no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't shut it out. It pounded at him relentlessly day after day. He couldn't look in the mirror, couldn't drive down the street, couldn't wake up in the morning without hearing the call.

"I chose you for the one
now I'm havin' so much fun
you treated me so kind
I'm about to lose my mind"

He drove home from his connections house, pleased at the size of the package he had received. It was nice and big, and at 2 grams, a very tasty portion. He could hear it loudly now, so loudly that he almost pulled over to caress and sample it's taste. He had to wait, but how could he?

"You made me so very happy
I'm so glad you
came into my life"

He pulled into the driveway and ran into the house, package in hand. He locked the door behind him as he entered and proceeded to the kitchen where he got himself a glass of water. He then proceeded to the living room, put the water down on the table, and pulled a shoebox out from under the living room sofa. He wiped the spittle from the sides of his mouth as he sat down and tore open the box pulling out it's contents. He hadn't opened this particular box in awhile. As a matter of fact, when he found it today in the back of the closet he was surprised it was still there. He wasn't surprised his connection was still dealing though. Some things never change.

"The others were untrue
but when it came to lovin' you
I'd spend my whole life with you
'cause you came and you took control
you touched my very soul
you always showed me that
lovin' you is where it's at"

The spoon was old and burnt. He tried the lighter and it still worked. "Thank god" he muttered. He mixed some of the contents of the package into the spoon with a little of the water and set the spoon down on the table. He looked at the spoon and it's contents and an alarm went off in his head. "Stop" was all it said. It was faint, but it was there and as he cocked his head a little to see if he heard it again, he looked at the spoon which looked up at him and said "Go!". That was all he needed.

"You made me so very happy
I'm so glad you
came into my life"

He lifted the syringe out of the box. It was old, but he didn't care. He was jonesing so hard now that, given the chance he would have slathered the drug on a hot butter knife and stabbed himself with it. He lifted the spoon off of the table and placed the lighter underneath it. One "flick of the bic" and the flame jumped towards the bottom of the spoon. After a few moments he was cooking. His pupils became enlarged as he looked at the spoon, smelling the unmistakable aroma.

"I love you so much it seems
You're even in my dreams
I can hear you
yeah I can hear you calling me
I'm so in love with you
all I ever want to do is
thank you baby
thank you baby"

The drug cooked and, drawing on his experience he knew when to stop the flame. He set the spoon down on the glass top of the table and looked at it. He ever so slowly picked up the syringe and pushed the plunger all the way down. He tilted the needle tip into the liquid in the spoon and gently pulled the plunger back so that the hot liquid filled the chamber. He was breathing quite heavily now and sweating profusely. His hands began to shake and he had to remind himself that if he tipped the spoon over the precious fluid would be gone and he would have to start over. He made himself be steady. Once the syringe was filled to where he wanted, he put it down on the table and quickly wrapped the rubber tubing around his arm right above where the crook of his elbow was. He snapped the tubing into place and started to pump his fist. He held his arm out straight and tapped the inside of his elbow quickly with his right index and middle finger. Tap, tap, tap. Looking for a vein. He was not disappointed.

"You made me so very happy
you made me so very happy baby
I'm so glad you came
into my life"

He quickly picked up the syringe and held it needle pointing up. He pressed the plunger just a little and then tapped the remaining air bubble out of the chamber. A little fluid came spurting out and he cursed under his breath. Finally he was ready. He held his left arm straight out and zeroed in on the big vein popping up under his skin. He gently inserted the needle tip into the vein just under the skin and pressed the plunger just a bit. He pulled it back out to let a little blood mix in and make sure he had hit his spot. When he was sure, he pressed the plunger all the way to completion.

"Every day of my life
I wanna thank you
You made me so very happy
Oh, I wanna spend my life with you"

It hit him almost instantaneously and his body slumped back into the couch. To him it felt like reclining back into a large pad of foam rubber that instantly engulfed his body. He lay there silent, his breathing became shallow, and a small smile painted it's way across his face. His eyes had closed and actually had turned up inside his eyelids. All rational thought of the day and his life had ceased. A small tear worked it's way down the right side of his face. He was home now.

He was back with his love.

"thank you baby
thank you baby"

Alright very good story pretty interesting, but never, and i repeat never, abuse a blood,
sweat, and tear song again. I love that song and never would i put it with shooting up.
That hurt a little.

Through my 40 odd years of life I have heard alot of music. As many of you know, certain songs bring memories to the forefront of your mind. This happens to me quite often. I also "feel" a certain way about songs. For instance, http://www.ubersite.com/m/27153 was how I feel about the song. I was in a band a very long time ago and whenever we played this song it started kind of low and built up through a huge crescendo at the end. The song felt powerful to play and to sing.

http://www.ubersite.com/m/27618 is truly how I feel about the song. I mention in my replies that something similar happened to me years ago but, this is truly as fictional as fiction gets. It was based very loosely on an event but it is so embellished that it has to be considered fiction. The song is one that I've always loved and I could picture this exact scenario happening.

I've always loved this song, http://www.ubersite.com/m/35082 and I know many people who love it as well. Whenever summer gets here I think of this song. Just one of those things.

http://www.ubersite.com/m/35500 this just flat out happened. Non fiction at it's finest (or worst depending on how you feel about it). I tried to capture the feeling of apprehension and shyness that I felt that evening. I'm not sure if I succeeded, but it is kind of a funny "pre-teen angst in the seventies" story.

That brings us to this post. The reason for this reply? You said I abused this song. I don't think I did. Music lives in all of us and as we grow older we are subjected to millions of notes, lyrics, styles, etc. Some of these stick with us and make us "feel" a certain way. Some music makes us excited and give us energy. Some music makes us sad and depressed. Other music may make us horny or feeling romantic.

The point is I am trying to capture the way I feel and the way I see how some music is. The interesting thing is finding out how others feel about the same music.

Thank you for your replies.

BTW, I've never done heroin but I was driving in my car the other day and this song came on the radio and this is what I thought of. It seemed to make sense to me for some reason.
