Paul Johnson Jr, an American civilian in Saudi Arabia, was recently killed by a Saudi group claiming links to al Qaeda, many people are urging vengance.
This is a quote from an ubersite user, who is guessing what Truman would have said if he was president today: "For every American you kill, we will kill 1000 of your people. The jets are warming up".
When a reviewer responded: "Lets kill 1000 innocent people for the crimes of a few, This is what makes the world dispise the US..."
the poster said: OK _______, I'm sure you'd feel the same if Paul Johnson Jr. was your brother. Or your Father.
You compassionless moron.
Shut up.
We are all in mourning for the innocent death of a fellow (if you are an american) citizen. He had a father and mother, a sister, friends, co-workers, etc...who are all grieving for him.
But every Iraqi citizen we killed in retribution would have a mother and father, sisters and brothers, friends, who would mourn his death just as much. (While a few might be terrorists who would seek to hurt the US and its citizens, many would be innocent people, who have done nothing to oppose the US)
We have a right to be shocked, and outraged, and horribly upset and shaken. These are very understandable reactions, and people around the world share our pain. But if we respond by commiting crimes just as horrible, we have no right to claim moral superiority.

I agree with about everyone. I think the war was wrong, I supported our troops once they gott here because they aren't BUSH - they don't want to be there either. Now over a year into it we got Saddam? So where is BIN LADEN? Isn't he the one we went after in the first place? Where are the WMD??? I don't see that we have solved ANYTHING and we have lost life after life after life....lets draft Bush's DAUGHTERS to go over there and fight and see how quickly he brings the US home!!!

An accidental civilan killing is far different from cutting off someone's head, you idiot.

The USA gave up all rights to claim "moral superiority" the second they barefacedly lied to sell their Iraq war.

I know you're mad at me right now, and I'm kinda mad too ... I mean, we
could sit here and try to figure out who forgot to pick up who till the
cows come home. But let's just say we're both wrong and that'll be that.

I think it quite appropriate that this is the Simpsons quote.
Why wasn't this a reply?

This was done by Saudi's, not Iraq's. People who benifit from lots of US aid and support. I can't wait until we suck the place dry of oil, or find alternate energy, so we can let those backwards motherfuckers get back to fucking camels.
