"Be it that they may cut the tongue from my mouth,
that I may complain no more of life."
-Michael Anthony Pate

Blanketed by the faint morning light cast through the blinds I awoke from a vivid dream in which I danced with all the people in my life that have meant anything to me.
You were there.
Yes, and you as well.
But you were not my dear, for you were lying beside me in bed, here in the physical world. Perhaps you roamed a landscape far removed from the ballroom floor we all had such a grand time upon, and mayhap you were there at the party but never removed your mask.
After slipping away from the bed as quietly as I could, allowing you to remain in what I hope was a peaceful place if not a blissful place, I arrived at the office and my calendar told me two words about today. It said:
"Summer Begins"
And my heart swelled like a small ship tossed about by the tides. Yes, I know, you make me that way. I am usually a little less corny and a whole hell of a lot less happy.
But indeed Summer! Summer Begins, Summer Begins! The warmth and the comfort and peace and bliss of a summer needed and deserved. Something to come and dry the wet cracks and heal the dying greens. The most primordial heat reaching into the darkest corners and giving unto them life. Oh Summer, begin! And begin again!
Winter has been, has set into my bones. It has frozen the parts of me that once moved so gracefully and set in motion the cold bits of me that lie beneath the surface of a frozen lake and wait for their time to encroach. Winter has a made less a man of me.
Ah but no more! Winter is conquered by the Summer we wield! Winter is the old man that feels justified in his bitterness, and to him I have but this to say:
"Get ye behind me Demon!"
Indeed! And Lady, do not despair now or ever again! There is no room for despair in this heart of ours, no empty hallways for us to roam. There are no tears in this place but those that rain from gratitude and fulfillment. There are no demons here, and if there be, I will but speak your name against their flesh and banish them to Old Man Winter's realm. Their's are not the eyes that are to look upon the white we cast.
It is happening. Can't you feel it? The blooming and flowering, no more for love's face scouring. Only lie there my dearheart, and dream the dream you were meant to dream. Awake, and know that the dream is this life, this place, here with me. Know that in all the world exists no heart like this one and that one. Know that in all walks of life there is pain and evil, but on our path neither stand a chance. I will conquer for you. I will shed white for you.
I would die if need be, but will until death live for you.
