I have been an avid internet user for the past 9 years, and if I've learned one thing, it's that Canadians think Americans are dipshits, faggots, retards, and whatever other bad names you can think of and vice versa. When I see Americans saying "All Canadians are retarded, just listen to how they talk!" and Canadians saying "All Americans are just power-hungry hicks with Southern drawls", all I can think about is how isolated and idiotic these people must be. This may hurt your precious ideals, but Canadians and Americans are pretty much the exact same people (the white ones, that is).

We both came over from Europe about 200-300 years ago and landed on this great continent of ours and kicked some Native ass. We were pretty much fine with each other until the War of 1812, but after that, everything was cool. In WWI and WWII, we were allies, an we both appreciated each other for doing our share. Korea; still allies. Then Vietnam came around and the anti-American and anti-Canadian sentiment really started. Canadians hated Americans for fighting the Vietnamese (although they didn't hate the French for it) and Americans hated Canadians for not helping them in the conflict. The many conflicts America got itself into didn't help with relations. So now we really dislike each other. In some cases, we even hate each other.

The truth is, if you saw a Canadian walking down the street, you wouldn't be able to distinguish him from any of the Americans. If you talked to that person, you still might not be able to tell him apart from the Americans. This actually happened to me. I live in Toronto, and I was at my local skatepark, Shred Central. I initiated a conversation with this guy who was about my age, and we were getting along just fine. After a while, I asked him what part of the city he was from. He told me that he wasn't from Toronto, but from Denver, Colorado. I was slightly surprised to hear this, because this was the first American I had ever met. He wasn't the jackass or control freak or guy with a drawl that I thought he would be. He was perfectly normal, no different from my friends and I. It was at that point that I realized that Canadians and Americans are the same.

What we have to realize is that we can't make generalizations about one another. Each American is different. For each gun-toting wacked out patriot, there are probably at least 10 totally normal working class guys. Each Canadian is defferent. For each idiot with an accent that makes him sound like he had a lobotomy, there are at least 10 other totally normal working class guys. In conclusion, we have to judge each other based on who we meet, not the terrible stereotypes that we recieve from the media.

P.S. This is my first post, woot.

Hey he has a point canadians are like americans. If you agree with the stereotyping, whether your a canadian or american your just a fucking idiot.Like i've said a million times There is some pricks that are canadian and some pricks that are american. Lets just get along. And by the way the only reason we didn't help you americans with anything lately is cause the liberals are fucking queers. Personally, if i was the P.M. of canada i would of sent atleast 10,000 canadian troops to Iraq to help you guys out!

Hey
I'm from Australia and over here everyone thinks that all Canadians and Americans are exactly the same; it's almost impossible to differentiate between you guys. I think the biggest difference is that Canadians spell properly (lol). Apart from that though, I really don't understand why you guys bicker so much.

I'm from Detroit, as you know, Canada is across the river. Nobody here hates Canadians, we love it over there. But the Canadians are scared shitless of us. It's probaby more of a Detroiter thing than an American thing, but whatever.

I think that any American who says he hates Canada is just fucking around. I don't think that anybody can actually cite any good reasons for hating Canada. It's all just a perception man. Jokes and what not. Canada is good to make fun of, and to Canadians, I'm sure we are easy to knock down too.

Random Joe - you're kidding, right?
In both WWI and WWII Canadians were right there, fighting beside Americans. Show some respect you fucker.

Since when is Canada an ally?
I thought they've always been neutral, in terms of war.

Now I'm not genius, but it seems that these are similar. Maybe they are exactly the same. You either have short term memory loss or you are too stupid to realize you posted the same thing twice in 6 hours. I vote for the latter. If this is the only thing you have learned in 9 years of internet use, you are too stupid to live.

If you just read something exactly like this, that was just a coincidence. Also I don't need a spellchecker, I just know how to spell and how to use proper punctuation.

Damn, I must be fucked up. I would swear I just read this a few minutes ago with a slightly different title.

-2 for writing your stories, then pasting them into the screen. Be a man and don't use a spell checker.
