It seems that when someone is performing some kind of objectionable behaviour in public these days that people are too scared to confront the fucker and tell them to pull their head in.
But not me. In my eyes that shit won't stand!!!
One thing in particular that really pisses me off is racism. If I see you being racist in public I'm not going to just stand there and pretend that it's not happening. I've had a few public confrontations with strangers over this issue that got a bit heated.
One time I was on a train and an Aboriginal woman (I live in Australia) was ranting at some girls across from her. She was abusing them because they were Asian and they were speaking to each other in some Asian language. After she went on about this for a little while I turned around and let loose a verbal tirade on her arse. She tried to justify her behaviour but I just let loose another verbal tirade about how appalled I was that a person who themselves would experience racial prejudice could subject others to the same kind of hateful bigotry. Anyway this "exchange" was getting pretty loud and heated so some transit cops came over to settle things down. They asked what was going on and I told them about this woman's appalling racism. They promptly grabbed her and escorted her off the train. The funny thing was that while they were doing this she was calling them racist!
Once when I was in the city I saw the exact same thing happening except this time the protagonist was some slavic guy who had poor english skills. There he was abusing Asian people for not speaking english when he himself could barely speak it. Once again it was verbal tirade time and things got pretty heated with all sorts of threats being made. After this went on for a while the cops just happened to walk by and enquire as to what this was all about. I informed them about this guys appalling racist behaviour and they pulled him aside and told him to settle down or they would haul his arse in. He didn't say another word after they left.
The point I'm trying to make is that if you see some idiot harassing others and generally acting like a tool, don't just stand by and let it happen. The reason these people act this way is because they have been able to get away with it in the past as people are generally too afraid to say anything. The good news is that these people are usually just all talk so you usually have nothing to worry about.

Valid point. I always try so to make sure my spelling is correct! Oh well, maybe I should concentrate on the title as much as I concentrate on the post.

Hey. I feel your anguish. But, please, if you are going to put a big word like INSIDIOUSNESS in your title, just make sure it's spelled correctly. That's all I'm asking. It really detracts from the fact that you might be making an intellegent point.

Racist people are cool, but only if they are white.
