A Plea to Politicians

These days it is all to common to see our government decide that in order to please some group of people, and assure their re-election, that they need to find some new way to waste tax money and create another government program, adding yet another weight on the shoulders of taxpayers and throwing another system to deal with in the great bureaucracy of government. As proven time and time again government programs simply do not work as well as commercialism, but as I said, any politician cares less of his people and more of his re-election.

Another drawback of these voter-pleasing government programs is that they usually require more tax money. Those on Mount Olympus sift through our economy with a fine-toothed comb to find a group of workers that haven't been taxed into extinction and add a few more taxes and volumes of tax laws so they can get the desired revenue to fuel their bureaucracy locomotive.

As the taxes slowly increase, the parasitic government slowly grows larger. Trapped underneath this behemoth are the economy and its workers. Business and transactions are slowly crushed. Incentives for doing business and investing drop as money is sucked from their wallets. Eventually, the economy suffocates from this monstrosity and it slowly begins to die, leaving nothing but a ruined government and a crushed economy. Russia anyone?

What politicians across the country fail to realize is that there is a way to get an enormous gold mine of tax revenue without hurting the people, in fact, it benefits the people. By repealing as many taxes as can be repealed, the economy will grow. Free from the chains of taxation, a mighty economy will emerge. As business drastically increase, investor confidence will soar and soon the standard of living for every citizen will be higher than it ever was. As commercial enterprise increases, so will the demand for workers, raising salary to a point it never was before. As business increases, prices will drop and the people will be able to buy more than they ever will before. And as the money begins to flow, those few and small taxes that were implemented will begin to rake in more money than there ever was before simply by the incredible number of transactions that are taking place. As wealth and comfort reign, the need for government programs will fall into the past, never to be remembered again. Until one day, someone claims life isn't fair.

If either of you -1ers had a grasp of how capitalism works you may understand why this in fact would work. When people work for themselves, they generate goods and services for other people at a low price and as efficiently as possible so as to avoid wasted goods.

The dumbest argument one of you had was that the "greedy" executives would store all the money away and never spend it, as if he would take all of it in cash or gold and store it in some big vault in his house. They would take their wealth and invest it in stock, bonds, or in a bank. This would benefit numerous businesses and those who need loans. When money is invested in a bank, it effectively increases the amount of true wealth in a society. As the bank owes the investor $$$ and whoever then gets a loan then has $$$.

Unfortunatly the solution offered by cutting taxes will not work in America. We are a capitalistic society, driven by the unsatiable need for more. In a perfect world, where everyone worked together with a single unified goal (not quite communism, but heading towards that mentality), yes by cutting taxes everyone would somehow be properly motivated to prosper. However in this country, time and again, whenever people are given an opportunity, 95% take it with the best intentions and 5% fuck it up for everyone else.

You see, there goes davepayne again thinking that if he uses enough large words and tries to make it sound sophisticated, his argument his automatically true. Bullcrap, and I can prove it. If you want real proof that taxes are too high and there is disemployment (NOT unemployment, but disemployment - employment lost due to the action of high tax rates), you have only to look at the massive numbers of jobs and economic growth created three times in history due to large tax cuts. Reagan's tax cuts preceeded an economic boom and a RISE in total government revenue. JFKs were the same way, and so were big Dubyas. Three tax cuts, three economic booms. Tax rates are well above their optimum levels, and history proves it.b

The fallacy of unregulated trickle-down economics. Your poor understanding of economics are based on a number of inaccurate presuppositions:

1) The largest interest group controlling politicians are corporations, and the number one legislations they ask for is lower taxes. Hence, our relatively low corporate tax structure in this country. Taxes were as high as 90% on corporations in the 50s.

2) Most anti-tax reactionaries look at the various social programs and the small amount of tax dollars they receive and completely ignore the giant, steamy-shitting elephant in the room that is the defense budget. Reagan in the midst of his heroic fuck "welfare mom's" crusade spent roughly 3 times the amount spent on all social programs on a cool space missile system (defense company welfare).

3) Once taxes are lowered and more wealth is captured from the economy, rich-ass motherfuckers will stow most of it away for their finely-pedigreed offspring - not to be taxed upon passing of course since they earned through arbitrary bloodline. Those who get stuck, even transiently, without a job or, God forbid, work at Wal-Mart, which despite being the biggest and one of the most successful corporations of all time keeps the pay-scale for 95% of their workforce static (unaware of the altruistic value of passing the wealth down the line I suppose), will have to deal with inflated living costs and no social net. Disparities in wealth will continue to grow. Those without shit will necessarily notice those with shit drive by/over them and get the natural urge to redistribute said shit the old fashioned way. Violence will increase globally as the battle for commoditized resources intensifies. Low-taxed, rich motherfuckers will continue their incessant complaining about the violent street urchins, demand more police on the streets, wonder what happen the good ole days where personal responsibility reigned, build prisons for the poor and further insulate their wealth from the economy. Corporate America will get accustomed to the low tax rates, start to actually believe they are entitled to every penny in the gross proceeds box of their fucking tax forms (under some 4th grade notion of fairness), and one day, like you, complain it isn't fair.

England LOST, I AM PISSED and my passion for arguement is frailing. But here is another angle. That "other goverment program", or even that person who is put in charge of the paperclips at the goverment office (whatever), all those people employed to dig up roads that dont need digging up, etc, etc, etc..is seen to be wasting peoples (TAX) money....BUT, what the goverment is doing IS CREATING, Creating roles for people who would actually not be working...oh, and what do them people do, THEY SPEND THE MONEY, sooo, all those expensive goverment projects to pay workers, all those people who are employed to manage the printer, earn a wage and pump the taxpayers money back into the economy...THUS, fuelling the fire of capitalism, THUS, allowing others to earn as much god damn money as they can without worrying about others too much, because they are taken care off..ID BETTER GO IM PISSED!!!

bUT TAX THE BIG COMPANIES....LITTLE PEOPLES TAX HAS INCREASED, BIG COMPANIES TAX HAS BEEN REDUCED!!!
