Our lives are affected negatively on daily basis by the actions of others. Murder is committed in our names everyday. Why? Because we let it happen. We sit in a great country in our comfortable houses with our big screen televisions, air conditioning and fast food we bought from the drive through so we wouldn't have to get out of our gas guzzling SUV and walk twenty steps to place an order inside. We stuff our faces without a care in the world. We watch people hurt each other for fun. We watch our society's decline with glee. We have been placated be convenience and luxury. We can not afford it forever.
There is a finite amount of oil left in the world. Most of this oil belongs to countries in OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) of whom most are in the unstable region we know as the middle east. Currently the United States is like a junky and OPEC like a dealer. OPEC can dictate the prices of the junk we need. One country produces an excess of oil another reduces its output slightly to keep the price of oil just high enough for them to still make an exorbitant profit. We need to end our dependence on foreign oil and all oil in general.
Think of what it would mean to us if we didn't have to worry about oil. We wouldn't have to ever give a shit about what goes on in the middle east again. We wouldn't have to start wars with countries who have giant surpluses of oil and put on a guise about giving them freedom from a tyranical dictator. We wouldn't have to worry about terrorists attacking us because we could get out of the middle east ,just like they want, and never go back again. We could also end ties with Isreal because yet again we wouldn't have to worry about what goes on in the middle east. Let the Isrealis and the Palastinians kill each other. Who gives a fuck? If they're not smart enough to realize that they are acting like a bunch of jackasses thats their own problem. The world would be a lot better off without their petty conflict over a bunch of shitty land in the asshole of the world. (Note: thats not meant to be an insult to people from the middle east I do apologize if you were offended) But in all seriousness there is just not a lot of stuff in the middle east except for oil, if we can end our dependence then we don't have to worry about it anymore.
