Now let me preface this by saying i'm a nigger, or black, depending on who you are. Do I believe this makes me more qualified to speak on the matter? Yes. Just like an Mexican is more qualified to speak on burritos and and dancing than a white guy. And that white guy is more qualified to speak on conquering countries and corporate greed. Matt's post is fine, I understand where he is coming from, but posts like this are dangerous in that they don't present the other side. I'll answer some posts from Matt's writing up until the time of this post.

I think it's wrong for the word to be used as is any ethnic slur. Although it is quite different when black people call each other niggers instead of white people calling blacks niggers.

I am surprised that both of the reviews this has received so far are plusses. It will be interesting to see how long that trend holds. Somehow I don't think it will for very long. Too many people have been brainwashed into thinking that any RACIAL comment you might make is a RACIST comment. We love us some underdogs. We's gots to protect them at any cost, including the sacrifice of reason or observance of demographic evidence.
Take "racial profiling" as an example. Oh it is just the most horrible thing ever. Unless you look at crime-rate statistics, which show that there just might be something worth-while to it.

very true, and to the people who are gonna -2 this, please dont be a jerk, this really needs to get out there. Black people love this "ghetto culture" and bad grammer, and idolize the "gangsta" lifestyle, and even though not all blacks do this, this is what gets in the way and is what most white poeple see and identify blacks with. not a -2 because you put a lot of thought into this...but lets remember, the "n" word, in any regard is not OK, or COOL for white people to use...in any situation. If you weren't hiding behind the anonimity of a screenname and a website, would you have the audacity to read this aloud to a black audience.

What Bill Cosby said applies to just about any person, of any race living in poverty. I am white and I see my sister and brother in law doing the same thing, but in a 'white way' (e.g spending 200 on pot and then asking my father for help paying the morgtage, buying cars they can't afford, getting pets they eventually don't want or can't take care of)
He can't "talk like them" or identify with them, because plainly, he is a rich bastard. (he may be educated too!)
How about we just call it the American Way? It's all about the status quo and what other's don't see (you slapping your kids, or saying fuck around your three year old) doesn't really happen.
Black people annoy you, it's obvious to see. Don't feel bad, you probably can't help it. At least you aren't committing hate crimes.
White trash, rednecks and the like annoy me worse, but I've noticed that here in Florida it seems poverty is a common denomonator for most of the people I can't stand.

So is it prejudiced, racist, etc, to just point out the same thing other people (list of black people mentioned below? Some of you think it is because Matt isn't black. You don't have to quote crime statistics to know there are a lot of black kids growing up with their fathers in jail. This may be the reason for the high crime rate among black youths or it may not. But either way, black youths do commit a statistically high percentage of crimes. So I ask again, is it wrong to say get straighten your black ass out? Apparently so if you are white.

It's not wrong to "say get straighten your black ass out" even if you're white. We're all in this together, but no one race should be continuously singled out and picked on. I'm of the viewpoint things will be much better when people fuck until everyone is becomes a tan color.
Truth be told there are assholes in all races, it's not their race that makes them assholes, but instead their environment. Everyone seems to recognize this, but they say there is a much higher instance of asshattery in the black race. Ok fine. I agree too on that point, so now what? What do you want to do once you've reached that conclusion?

The only thing I was trying to get across was that for me, it's pretty hard not to stereotype somebody when I see the majority of that type of people displaying exactly what the stereotypes say they are. I find it to be disturbing that I see it so much, and that I'm even finding myself jumping to conclusions about black people just because they're black

In all honesty, there wasn't really any 'point' to my post.
The only thing I was trying to get across was that for me, it's pretty hard not to stereotype somebody when I see the majority of that type of people displaying exactly what the stereotypes say they are. I find it to be disturbing that I see it so much, and that I'm even finding myself jumping to conclusions about black people just because they're black.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that if the black community as a whole complains about the stereotypes, then maybe they should make a concerted effort to stop giving in to the stereotypes.
Once again, I'm not trying to generalize here. I hold black doctors, and the like in the highest respect. However, it's my observation that there are fewer black doctors, and more blacks who act foolishly in public.
This is all my own opinion. I'm not claiming to be 'right' or 'wrong' on any of the points made. I'm just saying why I feel the way I do, and that it's scary how I feel this way.

In response to my part, I honestly don't know what to do. I don't believe welfare is the answer. For the black kids, for every good role model like MJ, Tiger, you have another (too many to list) who provide negative reencforcement.
A good arguement can be made that it is cultural. Most ethnic groups provide support for each other. All too often we see images of black on black crime, perpetuating the problem.

Very well said, but the sadness of the fact is that Matt's post was pseudo truth. You can sterotype many black people that way, but then you have ones like my best freind who owns his own company. But the problem today is that you don't see the ones who own their own companies or the ones who work hard.
You see the ones off of cops or the ones that are on MTV rapping about ho's and shit.
So when your on the street, you don't notice the black man in the business suit walking next to you. You notice the "thugged out gangsta".
