Sorry about the title, but I knew it would attract the audience I wanted, not newbs, but the pure old-fashioned oldbies.
I've been here a total of three days, and my opinion of Uber, is that it seems to just be an outlet for pissed-off oldbies to vent. Now, I'm not saying everyone here is, or that I am going to leave (though I know many of you want me to) But everyone here seems to be so fricking hateful.
With my spare time I have been lurking around posts and reading the comments (as I am sure many of you do) And anyone who has a view slightly different then the post is "-2 DIE BITCH FUCK YOU AND YOU CANT WRITE FOR SHIT YOU STUPID CUNT"
I thought that Uber would be a place to post your insights and questions and have them responded to in a mature and "adult" way. But I rarely see that. The people that have been here for a year automatically flame the newbs for everything they do wrong. Why? Is it because you are afraid of change? Change is inevitable, I learned that a long time ago. Or is it that you seem to have just pure hate? (I know I'm going to hear about that one)
I was just wondering why everyone is so quick to throw out -2's and death requests.
Oh yah, one more thing. People always use the "r0xerz" style of insulting me. Where the hell does it come from. I've never even heard of it until I got here.

This post, though very true, wasn't entertaining what so ever. You pointed out something obvious, but really, who cares? I'm not gonna cry myself to sleep if some guy I don't even know and may never meet tells me to fuck off and die because of my shitty post (I haven't posted anything on ubersite but that's cause I'm cheap). I still don't see how you made the connection of toasting newbs to being afraid of change. You're logic seems pretty abstract to me. If it really does suck I'm gonna give it a -2, and consequentially most sucky posts are written by newbs. By the way, Filthy Assistant (aka <>), the user right below me, a relative newbie, has all positive ratings on her posts. Her first post recieved a 1.7-something or other. She's a good example of a newbie who tried and was rewarded with positive ratings. I know there are others, but I can't think of any and seeing her name made me think of it.

This post is a little better than your others. We don't flame newbies unless they post shit that sucks. Your posts suck. I'm not saying it to be mean. If I was, this comment would come with a -2. I think this post shows that you have at least a little potential to stop sucking ass, because it is grammatically better than your other posts, and you put some thought into what you were saying. Try to take that formula and use it to make something entertaining, for instance, a funny story. This isn't a blog. It's not even a message board, really. It's a place where people post stuff for the entertainment of others. You have to think of yourself as an entertainer. We've got people on this site who are professional comedians. We've got aspiring writers. We've got book editors. We've got artists of both graphic and fine arts. We've got people who are just naturally talented. We've got computer programmers. We've got a lot of smart motherfuckers on this site. Basically, I'm saying that we have people who know how to entertain. And when they see bullshit, they call it. That's just the way it is. So if you post something that is poorly done and unentertaining, you are going to get flamed.
Also,unfortunately, because you are younger than a lot of people here, what is new to you, is old hat to the rest of us. Again, I'm not saying that to be mean to you. But it is annoying to click on stuff like your first post, because it is a poorly written piece of shit. Your other posts are then complaints of how we treated you. This is Uber. It isn't Dear Playgirl or cosmo, so if you want advice on sex, you should at least have something interesting and entertaining to say before you ask for it. My first post was a POEM (a notoriously hated medium round here, if you haven't already grasped that) and still garnered a +, as did subsequent posts. Put a little thought and effort into your posts, and they will receive positive scores, simple as that: that is, unless you really are entirely devoid of talent, in which case you'll come to realise it pretty quickly and disappear. People, myself included, do enjoy dishing out insults, the more creative the better, but only where they're due.

Good = positive rating
Bad = negative rating
Some exceptions are made for established writers. If Razor posts a bad post, chances are he'll get a higher average rating than if the same post was posted by user #9989 because his reputation precedes him. He's done so much good stuff over the years we cut him a little slack. On the flipside, if user #9989 posts a good post on his/her first post, we will NOT flame it. I can't say that for 100% of Ubersite because there are some morons on here. Just to prove my point even further, let me show you geniuses some examples.

Ubersite IS a place to post your insights and questions. You just have to do so in a way that isn't completely fucking stupid. If you take your question or insight seriously, and expect Uber to, you have to take some time and put some work into it.
Not everyone who comes here gets flamed. Some people get their first posts on Bored at Work (kind of like winning a gold metal from a subjective judge). But no one, and I mean no one who comes on here thinking this is going to be like TRL or some shit like that is going to get an ounce of respect. Smart people hang out here. We like it here and were protective of our space.

You're on your way to making a reasonable point, but the fact remains that if you post something halfway decent or entertaining you won't get shit reviews.
Try it. Write a story or relate an amusing experience and if you still get people telling you to fuck off, then you can feel justified bitching about it.
