I have a questions for you politicos out there. I am a staunch Republican but with the looming elections I have my doubts as everyone does when election time is coming. I most likely will vote for Bush on the fact that I have not been swayed by one Democrat or any campaign ad that would give me one reason to vote for Kerry that comes from his platform. The only reason I hear to vote for Kerry is that he is not Bush which is followed by a long expounding of every "Michael Moore conspiracy" with a few oldies but goodies, such as, Bush met with the Taliban during a visit to Texas regarding a pipeline that was proposed to be built through Afghanistan when they actually met with reps of the Clinton Administration from the SEC. While all this rehashing of old convoluted stories is compelling debate, I want to know what Kerry said he is going to do that swayed your votes. Please let me know. All that I have to go on is his history of flip-flopping and also his similarities to Bush in regards to elitism. It's all yours. Thanks

Ignore loki. She automatically assumes you're pure evil if you're not a tree-hugging hippy Democrat.
I'm voting for Bush because Kerry's positions on many things are, in my view, wrong. He wants health care to be a 'right'. He wants to raise the minimum wage. He wants less restrictions on RF bandwidths.

Herpes - Read the post carefully, I'm trying to avoid the worse of two evils, that's why I'm looking for feedback.
Loki - Again, Read the post, I'm trying to get personal reasons why people are voting for Kerry, what he said, what he promised, I get plenty of other info re the candidates I was trying to be non-biased so I can get a true answer. You mentioned that I wasted your time, why did you respond if your so busy

Anyone who votes for a candidate simply because "I'm a Republican." or "I'm a Democrat." is a god damned moron.
Pick the better candidate, or as some people would call this year's choices... the lesser of the two evils.

If you are getting your news from political campaign ads and don't know where you stand by now, you are hopeless and I'm not going to waste my time.

I agree...when the main selling point of your platform is that you aren't your opponent, one must wonder how good a president you will actually be. Interestingly enough, I noticed that Kerry is using Medicare in his campaign now. How many times have do we have to see the "I will lower the cost of Mmedicare for the poor working class" before we get sick of it? Kerry has done nothing to show me why we should put a new president in office.

I define a good leader by how well they can speak to the people. Policies between Democrats and Republicans don't vary much in the end. The power to persuade and motivate people through your public speaking is the true definition of how good a leader is. If you look back at all the leaders in history who have been deemed "good", they were all excellent public speakers. Even if they were "evil" men, they could give a rousing speech. I don't necessarily agree with Tony Blair's ideas on how to run a country, but I would be honored to have him as my leader. Watch C-span when he goes up against the House of Commons. He gives and takes all kinds of shit in stride and impromptu. Therefore, I can't have any amount of respect for Bush. He's a lousy public speaker and can't motivate a suicidal person to slit their wrists. He had a large percentage of the world behind us after 9/11 and fucked it up because he wasn't able to effectively convey his message to them. With the limited amount of choices I have to vote for Kerry because he is a better public speaker. Maybe not the most energetic or interesting, but still better.

Sounds like you know everything there is to know about him. Imagine some guy who has always been nothing other than a crowd pleaser. That's why he looks like a smeared painting, I don't think there is anything to him.

The best thing a conservative can do when in doubt, forget everything you've heard about either man. Start from zero and find the info yourself. There are too many tools in the media and they all have an agenda. Moore stretches it, but conservatives downplay most of it. Hard to say who is right and who is wrong. One thing I do know, I have made numerous black or white decisions in my life and based many of them on the lesser evil. That my friend is a subjective and personal opinion for which I have no answer.
