So, during a debate over this article, http://www.ubersite.com/m/38033, abortion came up. Mostly, we were just trying to generate enough "Heat" to get us on the top ten list. We made #5.
So, while debating abortion, one user (electrictoothsyndrome) said we should keep abortion legal provided we send the babies off for food to third world nations. At first I was horrified, then I asked myself if it was really worse than sucking it out with a vacuum and throwing it away.
I would guess they would be high in protein and such. Probably save many lives. Yes, it is sick to even think about it, but when you really get down to the heart of the matter, should we stand by and allow people to starve while we lead carefree lives having sex and destroying the fetus without ever considering the waist?
Imagine you're a young slut. You're screwing away not giving a shit whether you might get pregnant. So, you do get knocked up. After which, you think, oh well, another abortion I guess. You go into your local Happy Times Abortion Clinic, who's slogan is "We'll bring out the kid in you!" (Yes, I stole that slogan from Mr Show.) You read over the pamphlet they give you and realize they will be shipping out the edible parts to Africa to keep people from dying of starvation.
"WHAT?!?! Someone is going to eat my baby? How barbaric! This is wrong!"
The next time she spreads those war-torn legs she'll think twice about getting the guy to throw a condom on his meat.
On second thought, she might take a different attitude. She might take a little pride thinking, "just doing my part to help the starving in Africa."

In any event, I felt the idea put the concept of abortion in its proper context. When I was younger, my girlfriend and I had an abortion. Upon entering the facility, I was struck with the daycare-like atmosphere. Aside from the massive security present, which perhaps more daycares should look into.
Everything about the procedure was pleasant, or as pleasant as they could make it. You had laughing gas, a pretty poster on the roof, and other drugs that help you not to remember ever going through such things. Unless you're the man, then you get nothing. You have to go through it sober.
I'm not suggesting that an abortion is easier for men than it is for women, instead, suggesting it is just too easy and pleasant, period. Unless you are a victim of a violent crime, there isn't any reason why such a thing should be "easy". There are few things in life that should be taken more seriously than choosing not to allow a child into this world.
Make no mistake, I am in favor of the right to choose, only opposed to the lack of respect for such choices. Women and men who take this decision seriously are not the ones we have to worry about, because odds are, they wont be coming back for a second run. We live in a day and age where there is simply no excuse for getting pregnant without trying. Again, unless you've been a victim of rape.
How many girls would make return trips if an abortion was something to be ashamed of? Something treated the way it should be treated. You and your lover fucked up. You walk into your cell under no influence of drugs. You lay down and no one comforts you. They do the deed and send your baby off to feed people in need. How many would come back again? I would bet fewer than currently do.
Let the fireworks begin....

I should comment on the Spam Issue as well. The matter should be cleared up. I hope. The sad thing is, it was all over a stupid misinterpretation on my part. A misinterpretation of a stupid comment on my Fetus for Food Program post. It was simply "Ban Fetish". I saw that and though, "WTF? He didn't even read the post! He thinks this article is Fetish? How sick is this guy?" So I went to his first post, didn't read it, and posted one "Ban Fetish" on his.
I'm new to Uber. So, many of you are probably laughing at the sad fact that I didn't realize "Fetish" was a user. Not my brightest moment, I assure you. So, the Fetish user saw it, and got pretty insulted, and so would I.
I don't care what my rating is on my posts. I pretty much expect a lot of people to hate them. And they do. Others don't. That's what it's all about for me. However, I had just posted my first personal work, which was important to me.
One thing that I was blown away by was the fact that the very first review of my House of Cards short story was by a person who appears to have the same illness. The story makes no mention of what the main character has. Zero. Yet she was the first to find it.
I have read a few of her posts. They are Bar None the best writing I have found yet on Uber. Go and read them.
Anyway. All was well, until, Fetish saw I had a new post up. So, BAM! "Ban Fetish" returns. About two seconds before that I had this huge sinking feeling and began thinking, "Oh god, I shouldn't have posted that." Although the story is 80% fiction, it is pretty close to home. Suddenly I wanted it off Uber. Not possible as far as I know.
So, when the page was spammed I wasn't too pleased. I went to his pages and did the same for something like 10 pages. Stupid. Not to mention I didn't even take the time to read his posts. I'm sure the guy has several things that are personal to him.
So, another Ape comes on and threatens to kill me and my family. The whole thing continues until I realize I am acting like a 15 year old. "What am I doing?"
So, I post on his page saying, "You win." And presto, it stops.

I hope it's obvious that I am not serious about shipping dead fetus overseas to feed people. I agree, it isn't cost effective. The post is more a method of getting people to think about the topic of abortion in a different light.

I think the shipping costs of keeping the meat fresh would prohibitive, and lets face it with the lack of third trimester abortions we are really not talking about a signifiant source of protein.

There was a similar thing written in the 18th century by Johnathan Swift which was called "A Modest Proposal", in which he used satire to bring up the problem with the Irish living in poverty and being a burden. It also includes using the flesh of the socially unwanted to feed the populace. Here it is, should you want to look at it, it's just as gross, for it's time period:

Also of note, I once saw a television program, I think it was "The World's Most Shocking Video" or something, where this English woman took her placenta home post-partem and cooked it and ate it.
