While researching for a story I'm currently writing I came across a strange site run by a group of people who honestly still believe that the Earth is flat.
I was searching for the name of the Spaniard that it has been said found America before good old Columbus landed his happy ass here and thought he was in India. I know there have been multiple theories as to who discovered America and when, but I was looking for a certain name that I can't seem to remember. If you know please indulge.
Anyway I found this site and an essay written by a man who is not part of the Flat Earth Society about their beliefs and their President. I found it, to say the least, interesting; I thought maybe some of you would find it the same.
We try our hardest to prove our penile power by what we can explain about the world and the way things work, but there are always those who don't care about proving things, only believing them. They don't care about proving their firmly fixated phallic forces.
Maybe they're eunuchs.
The strange thing is that though I believe what I've been told about the Earth as a globe, it's hard to read these peoples thoughts and, if you're cynical and a little paranoid like me, completely discount their opinions.
Are they crazy or do you think they may have some valid points?
Read and share your thoughts Uber.

There's also a band called Flat Earth Society. They're a 9-12 piece brass group or something. Bass, guitar, drums and a whole load of brass. They're amazing alternative jazz type stuff. I saw them with Fantomas a while ago and was blown away. So if you happen to come across them whilst looking into this ... check em out.

Never heard of a Spaniard before Columbus... Leif Ericson is the viking who is commonly believed to have landed on the New World first.

It was Leif Erickson, or 'the viking' that first landed on the North American continent. Or so history says.

Ummmm you people slept through History class
Amerigo was one of the first to be convinced that Columbus discovered a new continent. He didnt get here before Columbus though.
That being said, I'm not sure what spaniard you're referencing. It shouldn't be too hard to find as there is a fair amount of writing on pre-Columbian contact. The latest was by some fellow claiming the Chinese discovered America some 70 years before Columbus

Yea, I've heard the viking theory too.
There are several different beliefs as to who and how, but really if you think of it, it is as impossible to prove as anything else, and as easily argued against. Written history or no.
