No, this not a story about how furry animals are killed to make fur coats. This is a story of an event that happened about 10 - 15 years ago, but I am going to try to tell it as if it happened recently. Therefore, some facts may not be exactly right. However, the general outcome is the same.
When I was younger I did not have a lot of room to hook up the various electronic devices that I messed with as a child, as a result often one could often find various electronic devices wired together wherever I could fit them. The floor, my bed, my desk chair, literally wherever. The dog was not even allowed in my room for fear of him being electrocuted, it was still safe because I knew what was live and what was not.
The day in question was no different from the rest. In particular I had a PC mount transformer, the kind with the small pins that fit in a circuit board (see picture), lying on my bed upside down. It is easier to connect wires to those things when they are upside down. I do not remember what that bad boy was supplying power to. As the day went on, I even forgot that it was there.
Later that day I came in my room and set down on my bed, forgetting the presence of the transformer. As luck would have it, I sat my ass right down on top of the bastard. Since it was upside down, and had the little sharp pins sticking up in the air, the pins poked right through my drawers and into my ass cheek. So the pins stuck into my ass cheek, what is the big deal?
The transformer just happened to be powered up. That is right, 122.3 Volts of AEP's best was applied to two of those pins. Not only was I stuck in the ass cheek by sharp pins, but also I received one hell of a shock at the same time. It would suffice to say that this sucked immensely. Words do not describe the effect of literally plugging your ass cheek into a wall socket. There are probably some people who enjoy that, but I am not one of them.
Now I always look before I sit down somewhere. Luckily for me, I have not shocked my ass since then.

I was the same way when I was a kid/teen. I had electronics parts scattered all over the place. I never electrocuted myself though; I had a power supply switched with an ignition switch from an Oldsmobile - complete with key. It got shut off when I was done messing around.
Probably the worst thing that happened to me was acid burns from two 9 volt batteries that got lost in the blankets.
