(from a place infinitely better.)
I have reason to believe that my friends don't give a shit about me, and/or what happens outside the little sphere of their own existences.
I came home from a short trip to a faraway place, and the friends of mine that I've talked to have felt it necessary to fill me in on what happened to THEM while I was gone. Completely ignoring the fact that I was doing something way cooler, and you know, kind of having a life-changing experience. Out of sight, out of mind apparently.
Okay, fine, so my friends don't care. Great. No big deal, at least my coworkers got me a cake. And I can't say that I'm terribly surprised by my friends' version of welcome back.
The bigger issue is that home life is nowhere near as interesting as what I was just doing for 19 days. The people around me aren't as cool/new, I can ask where the restroom is in English which is boring, the restrooms are not BYOTP, no kids are grabbing my arm saying, "hello money," I don't get to drool over hot-ass debating monks, everything is more expensive and there's no bargaining, I can't smoke indoors, I'm giving away most of the cool shit I brought home, I'm back to working 50 hours a week, etc.
Conclusion: Get the fuck out of here ASAP.
A girl I was with told me that once you start traveling, you never stop. At that time, while immersed in the trip's itinerary, I liked the sound of that inevitability. But now, I realize the reason behind the statement is the severe disappointment you experience when you come back. Now nothing will be good enough unless it's in another country, in another language, or just somehow different from what I'm used to. I'm freakin addicted.
I was here, but this is not my picture because it's crappy and mine aren't developed yet. No, I'm not cool enough to have a digital camera (actually I do but it's shitty so it might as well not exist).

Nice photography skills, although since I don't want to scare you, "it sucks."

It depends on where your home is and what it's like, personally I doubt I'll return home
unless I become a miserable failure in the world and have to go crawling back to my relatives.
Even then I'd probably just bum it until I land on my feet compared to the alternative.
Back to the post, awesome picture that place looks amazing and it sounds great. If ever I
gather the resources and find myself in a position to go to Asia I'm checking out Tibet. On
a side note, how many diseases originated there and what are the odds you brought any back?

What I mean is, and I feel that I'm qualified, is that traveling is new and exciting but eventually you will long to be home. Eventually new places become just another change of scenery and you prefer the part of the world you've been accustomed to most of your life. Maybe I'm wrong though, maybe thats just moi.
I just said moi.
