I've recently been looking into self-emancipation. This is when a child declares him/herself to be free of parental 'rule,' if you will, and be responsible for his/her own actions. If my plans go through, I will have a place to stay, but under a few conditions: I finish school and I get a part time job. There are many more, but those seem to be the two biggest ones in my mind.
I'm not going to say who has offered me this place, but they know who they are. Thank you for the offer. If, and that's a BIG if, it happens, I won't be able to tell you how much I owe you.
I'm not sure how the process of emancipation goes, but I am fairly certain that both parents must sign a waiver of guardianship. Since neither of my parents really cares much about what happens to me or where I go, I doubt that will be much of an issue.
As far as posting on this site and getting on AIM, I may not be able to for a month or so after the proverbial shit hits the proverbial fan. That month will be taken up by me settling in and moving in, looking for a job, and discussing rules and such. To those of you that I talk to on AIM, you can contact me if you need to by calling my cell phone. I don't even know how much longer I will have this cell phone, but if you want the number, e-mail me.
ECARocker01.at.hotmail.com
Or, alternatively, you can instant messenge me on AIM.
Aim:goim?screenname=harmlessness
(Hopefully that link works with ubersite)
I really don't feel that I need to inform anyone as to what my plans are, but telling people helps me clear my mind out so that I can understand what I'm doing better. It helps me look at things from a different perspective and possibly realize what I'm doing right or wrong. I'm sure some of you know how that is.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Well all I can tell you is don't move in with your girl/boyfriend. I made the mistake of moving in with my boyfriend, and I regretted it since. Although it did give me the preemptive to move on my own.

Bro, as a victim of child abuse, I gave the ultimate middle finger of emancipation myself. I know things are a bit different now, but my younger brother did most of it(his emancipation) with my help. I'm his legal guardian now. Don't know your situation as to why you feel compelled to leave but I wish you luck. Some adults should have never been allowed to pro-create and many of us pay(have paid) the price. So, here's your +2, quit f@cking whining and get a job.
------------------------------------------
I'm fairly clear as to what the process is.
First, my mom will have to file for full custody.
Second, she meets the person who offered to take me in.
Third, she signs some papers saying that the person is my legal guardian.
Fourth, I move in with that person.
It's a lot more complicated than it seems.
I agree that many adults should not be allowed to procreate, and I am paying the price for my dad's decision.
As he tells me, the best part of me ran down my mom's leg. Oh, I'm also an accident.
I really don't consider this post to be a whining post, but more of an update to uber.
Initially I wasn't going to post it. I wrote it simply to read it and imagine that someone else wrote it, then pick what I am doing right / wrong in this situation. Then lojope told me I should post it to get other user's opinions.
Thanks for the +2, man.

Oh my god...I just rated this as "made me smile"....this didn't make me smile. It made me depressed............Worth reading would better fit this.
------------------------------------------------------
I respect your opinion, but I also have a question.
Why does this make you depressed? It's a story of good things to come for me.
This shouldn't have depressed you, this should have made you happy.
------------------------------------------------------
....Good point. Kicker of all ass for you.

that's a pretty dumb thing to do IMO. if I'd had the choice, I'd have spent my dissolute youth playing and going to school instead of working
--------------------------------------------
I don't think you grasp the situation completely. My dad is abusive. He is an alcoholic. I don't play any more, I never have time to. In reality, where I am going will give me more of a chance to play and go to school than to work (which I will also be doing.)

Give me your AOL screenname, or I'll.. I'll.. Be like Fetish, and stalk you.
Then, I'll become obsessive and stalk anyone who gives me a -2.

cool, man.
I hope your parents are really shit, because that sounds like a relatively premanently decision, one which i am sure would alienate almost any parent too. You sound pretty rational though, so I'm sure they suck.
