Exactly, Munkey. It's just a label. If people would take Thursday as an opportunity to try something different, we might get some good stuff out of that. Every time I visit this site I have to filter through piles of shit. Thursday's no different. I venture to say that most of the posts labeled "SPT" by users who are usually good writers are still good posts. Look at Matt Maiorano's post. Labeled SPT and rated highly, deservedly so. It's still a pretty good post.

post it on thurs with a label of SPT and you will all know

See, I like it when people branch out and post stuff they wouldn't normally post. When a funny person writes something serious, and I realize there is more depth to them than I thought. Or when a serious person posts something hilarious, I realize that they can be funny. Or other things like that. But some people are afraid that they can't do that because of bad ratings. So they hold off on posting it until SPT. JohnGalt's Angle series was born of SPT. I know there are other examples.
