Last month I went to Shreveport, Louisana on business.
While there I forced my husband and 11 year old stepson to go
to the American Rose Garden. http://www.ars.org/
It was a beautiful peaceful place. It only cost $4.00 for adults and
was free for my stepson. It motivated me to start a rose garden in my
yard. I have 2 acres of yard with mostly grass. So anything that cuts
down on mowing time is a welcome diversion.

No the picture isn't big enough. I was hoping to
lock up all those uberusers still on dial up.
I haven't done many pictures. I will be more attentive
to detail next time. I was just stealing Fetish's
travel photos to edify him. It didn't work! See below.

Actually, I'm not so much into the roses (or any other thorny plant) but I definitely am getting what you are saying. Now if I could just figure out some way to get Bur Oak trees to grow faster so that they would provide some shade for me and my hostas, I would be a happy man.
