What's that statistic? Something like 75% of Americans die within fifty miles of where they were born.
I can't be bothered to find the exact statistic, so, we'll stick with that.
Anyway.
Here I am, living right near 50 miles of the city I was born in.
It makes me want to move. I mean, I've travelled a lot. I've been all over the continental US, Mexico, Canada, Egypt, Italy, Hawaii... all of this within 26 years (most within the past 6 years), yet I still feel this burning desire to MOVE.
Just so I'm not another statistical normality.
***
I wanted to move to Egypt, permanantly. Husband said no. We came back to the US.
Then (post divorce-type-things) I decided I was going to move to Washington to live with my boyfriend (re: http://www.ubersite.com/m/23166 ) (and yes I was a wimp and used a fake name to post that... it was before I came to terms with Uber and Shyness and Whatnot). That never happened.
Most recently I decided to move to Georgia, to live with my Aunt.
Then, being out in New England, I thought, "Wow, it's nice here... I wonder how much an apartment on the East Coast would cost?".
***
Rationally, I know that the PEOPLE make the city. I know I love living here in Michigan because I have a great group of friends... I have people I connect with on every level. I have my family here, my nephews are growing up so fast...
I KNOW if I moved I'd miss all of that. I know I'd sit in my new city thinking about how stupid I am. "Corinne, you make the worst decisions sometimes" (etc etc I'm sooo good at self hate talk).
***
But, because I'm an impulsive person (for example, buying my ticket to Ubercon the DAY before), I have decided that I WILL MOVE in March. I have now committed myself to it via this post on uber.
Hopefully out of the country for 7 years while my credit clears itself up.
(re: http://www.ubersite.com/m/37802)
According to http://www.findyourspot.com I should move to Greenville, SC. (what?!)

I took the quiz again today. I think I changed a few answers. I'm so indecisive. Anyway, Manchester, NH came in 11th on my quiz.

My top three are:
Eagle River, Wisconsin.
LaPointe, Wisconsin.
Elkhorn, Wisconsin.
Stupid website, I don't even know where Wisconsin is! I'm damn sure that I wouldn't like to live anywhere where they give places names like Elkhorn though.
My advice would be stay put. Wisconsin indeed.

"Why the heck would you want to live in Egypt?"
Because Egypt is amazing. I almost went to school there I loved it so much. Wouldn't want to live there as a woman though.
I live 406.99 miles from where I grew up.

Juts don't move to San Jose, CA. It is the most boring place in the world. Unless you really like Miniature Golf, because there's probably one around here. That and Snow Cones, you could probably find a place that sells Snow Cones.

Weird.
My top two places are each within 50 miles of where I was born, and I'm familiar with both places. I guess that my location is part of my identity, and I'm happy where I'm at.
