For those of you that are unaware. There are two very bad storms headed for the coast
of Florida. Hurricane Charley is headed straight for Tampa Bay.
So tomorrow my friends and I will be getting ripped and waiting for the roof
to blow off.

So if you all keep your eyes on the news maybe you'll get to see all the
mass carnage the fuckwits at the Emergency Operations Center are proposing
for my area.

I figure we have dodged the bullet quite a few times in the past decade
so it's our turn. We are gonna get creamed.

So if I'm not on for awhile it's because Charley kicked my ass.

Also RB I know your in the danger zone be careful!!!
And Insane you too.

I am sad that it is not hitting Boston. I want streets
to be flooded! I want to swim in the street and row to my moms in a row
boat. And not have to work for a week.

mmm... no work.. arrrrrgh

Just a pet peeve of mine. I have a M.Sc. in meteorology, and those bums have a "seal of approval".

TV weather personalities are not meteorologists, they just read the data that real scientists produce.

All of your stuff should be straight.. unless a tree falls into your place or something. Which could be likely with the 100+ winds, being that Charley is supposed to make a direct hit to Tampa.

Now he's heading to Cuba and moving towards the Gulf.. where he'll hit the warm water and possibly intensify... a lot.

He could decide he wants to fuck everyone's life up.

I feel like a meteorologist. Just call me Tim Deegan.

I'm getting fucked (in a bad way) no matter what part of Florida gets hit. I live in Melbourne, FL (east coast) but I just moved all my stuff to Tampa, FL (west coast) the other week. So my shit is getting ruined no matter what.

Do any of you Tampa residents go to USF?

That damn Charley is getting stronger.. up to 110mph winds now. Category 2. Damn, damn, damn.

I'm so excited. I've been watching the news all day.

We've had about 5 tornadoes touch down in the last hour. We're under a flood watch and tornado watch.. it's crazy. Tropical Storm Bonnie rocks my socks.

So how's the weather out there in the REST of the world?

Damn this makes me miss home. Gainesville, FL where during a hurricane, every parking spot in the entire city is filled with people's boats, RV's and Campers.

When I think of Florida,

1 - Pink Flamingos
2 - Retired old people
3 - Cocaine
4 - Speed boats
5 - And Crocodiles

When I picture a Hurricane hitting the state, the list twirls around and floats in a sea of cheap hotels and highways. Is this accurate?

I've lived here my entire life I have never seen a flamingo in the wild only at the bird sanctuary
but there is an abundance of Retired old people, and speed boats.
Lots of crocs and I know there is plenty of cocaine too.

We don't have hurricanes, cyclones, blizzards, landslides, mudslides, or anything like that here. It pretty much just gets really hot... And in winter it rains a little.

I've never been in a hurricane, but it seems to be coming STRAIGHT for Jacksonville. Woohoo.

We're having a hurricane party at my neighbor's.. no joke.

Horray for Charlie!!

Ashlee, let me know how things are going with you on Saturday or Sunday.. if there's any damage, hit me up.. I know a few places to stay.

But. I heard it's not supposed to be all that bad. 35 - 50 mph winds.

I also heard it's supposed to be a category 3.. which is a lot different.

We'll see!

That is what happened the last few times Kristen the storm fizzled out
before it hit land. I remember Hurricane elaina when I was like 5
it ripped a huge oak tree out of our backyard an plopped it on our neighbors roof.

Ok, I remember Gloria and I remember Bob as well, and Andrew too. But think about how much more damage those hurricanes did to the Carolinas and Florida, compared to LI, NJ and CT. Most hurricanes are F1 by the time they get here, otherwise they are tropical storms or even tropical depressions. Laughable stuff compared to what you Floridians go through.

I almost forget that hurricanes are natural disasters. I went through about ten when I lived in southern Florida, including Hurricane Andrew and I've gone through one since I've lived in Louisiana. A couple years ago, we were supposed to be hit with this nasty, Category 4 hurricane. The Weather Channel was freaking me out, saying this was going to be one of the largest and strongest hurricanes to hit Louisiana since Hurricane Audrey in the 50's...the night before, I did the mandatory run to the store for batteries and Little Debbie snack cakes and settled in, prepared for my roof to be blown off. By the times that thing made landfall eight hours later, it was a drizzle. In fact, I think I've slept through every hurricane except Andrew and Erin. I got in trouble during Hurricane Erin because I went outside in a Mickey Mouse poncho and tried to fly.

ANYWAY! Good luck to you!

Here in the Northeast, the biggest problem you have is blizzards. And so what? You probably don't have to go to work when one happens so you just go sledding and make hot chocolate. And in the summer you have virtually nothing to worry about.
-----------------------------------------

Um, did you forget about hurricane Gloria? That took a massive tree from my backyard and put it through my neighbors house.

Im kinda pissed im leaving the tampa bay area for a wedding in NJ. I love hurricanes.

We usually don't get hit. We just get some backlash rain and whatnot.
We haven't had a bad one in Tampa since the early 80's

I have trouble understanding why people live places with so much potential for natural disaster. I mean, Florida is super hot in the summer and there's hurricanes. Cali has awesome weather all the time but earthquakes and mudslides? No thank you! The midwest is nothing but tornados.

Here in the Northeast, the biggest problem you have is blizzards. And so what? You probably don't have to go to work when one happens so you just go sledding and make hot chocolate. And in the summer you have virtually nothing to worry about.

Actually, wait a tic... It's overcrowded as hell here and I don't want anymore people. So, nevermind. It sucks here too.

That shot is impossible! Jack Nicholson himself couldn't make it!
