seeing as i'm from new jersey i feel as though its my responsibility to post this...

The thing that really chaps my ass is that he isn't leaving office until November 15. If he would leave office a few weeks earlier, they would have to have a special election to replace him. BUT since he gets to pick when he quits, he chose the 15th, thus ensuring that the Democratic Speaker of the state Senate would replace him. Its just cheap politicing if you asked me, which no one did, so I'll shut up now.

You're right - I missed your point. People will care and they shouldn't.
As for the fighting fire with fire...to each their own, I guess. But if you posted this same post and kept it intelligent and coherent, people might be less likely to respond with the "fuck you, die" comments. And even if they did (which they will - they always do), at least you've expressed your ideas and thoughts in a way that makes THEM look like assholes, not you.
jumpinjellyfish once gave me the following advice:
"Try not to write about something you think the readers here will be impressed with. Impress yourself."
I think that applies not only to the content of the material, but also the context of the writing and the manner in which it's written.

Well the big deal is that he might be getting sued for a homosexual harassment suit. Also the fact that he lied to his wife and kids about it says something about his willingness to speak the truth about things. That he came out today on national television, however, is very respectable, and something Bill Clinton took much longer to do over something much less taboo.

I live in Jersey, too.
I figured he'd be indicted for money laundering or campaign misappropriations before this.
I actually gained some respect for him after this.
