I don't know about you, but I hated high school. Loathed it. With undying passion. Stab kill.
However, the highlight of every year was the ending "electives." Oh, you know: Best dressed, most attractive, etc. And as I was reading my senior yearbook and drawing mustaches on all the faces, I was thinking... Uber?
All this thinking, plus writer's block (to the extreemmmmeeee) has led me to write this god awful post.
So, I ask you, who do YOU elect?
Let the cliques form and the name-calling begin!
Voting will end next SPT. I'm too lazy to look up the date. Winners will be tongued. Maybe Kristin and I will get naked or something.
I got a few ideas from http://bereahigh.org/1955.htm. Sure, they have little or nothing to do with Uber. Sure they're from 1955. ... stop looking at me.

That post used to have something close to -1.98 for the average rating. Razor was a little trigger happy that day and decided to demonstrate automation by running a program that gave that guy close to 1,000 -2s. It's also the second most reviewed post in Ubersite's history (Rizzo's original "The Neverending Thread" being the first...that one has actually been closed due to the excessive lag on the server when you try to open the page). Ever since the change to the new rating system it's only got a -0.63.
Also Razor has learned his lesson but will forever be known as the original spammer. Albeit he did spam cleverly.

Most likely to explain the new ratings system for the hundredth time: Not me.
Just kidding.
Here's the diggity deal. You're not exactly "new" anymore, but I have no idea when you really started participating on Ubersite. I also don't care, so I'll explain it to you like you're a dumbass even though you may not be said dumbass. The old ratings system used to count every rating from every person as often as they wanted. For example:
Random Post from Val:
Rating 1: youarsoghey gives you a +1
Rating 2: HootinanyBob gives you a -2
Rating 3: Assface McGillicutty gives you a 0
Rating 4: youarsoghey gives you a +1 again
Rating 5: youarsoghey gives you a +2
Rating 6: youarsoghey gives you a +2 again
The average rating of this post under the old rating system after 6 reviews would be 0.67. Overall score of +4 (+1-2+0+1+2+2) divided by six ratings.
After a lot of complaining from tons of users that one person could unfairly affect the average rating of each post just by giving it many +2s or -2s, Bart came up with a clever solution to the problem. These days your rating only counts once, but each subsequent rating you give is averaged with your other ratings to go toward the total score as a single rating. For instance:
The average rating of that post under the new rating system after 6 reviews would be -0.17. Overall score of -0.50 (youarsoghey's average rating of all his ratings in that post would be 1.5 so 1.5+0-2) divided by THREE ratings. So you can no longer affect any one post more than your power to give it a good or bad rating ONCE. The post will still have six reviews, but it will no longer have six ratings. Just two regular ratings and one rating derived from four others.
The practical application of this is that comicbookguy DOES drag down your rating ever so slightly by giving you zeros or -2s after he gave you that initial +2, but it is nothing more than him shifting his average from a +2 to a +1.4 or +0.5 and so on. That's why you should keep giving +2s out on a post if you wish for your rating to remain a +2. It doesn't hurt the average rating of the post as much as it used to, but it doesn't help it to give it another +2 at this point, so it's best to just keep giving +2s (or -2s or +1s or 0s...whatever you want your rating of that post to be) in secondary reviews.
If that makes no sense to you, too bad.
