Yea but at least Rome was the hub of "civilization" at that time. This country is far from that influential. Well I should be careful; they might have one of those missing nukes from the USSR.

July is named after Julius Caesaer (self appointed)
His succesor Augustus Caesar then named August after himself.

It's nothing new.
