Well, found out today my girlfriend has that Human Papilloma Virus. Ain't that fucking spiffy. So I'm guessing I got it too. Did a little research on it, looks like there aren't any symptoms and it goes away by itself in a year or two. I found out 3 out of 4 people in the world have it and don't know they do. It leads to cervical cancer in chicks and shit like that. She had a biopsy to see if she has cervical cancer and we have to wait a week to get the results.
Also found out last week my dad has throat cancer, he was in for surgery to have his tonsils out, and they found a pile of cancer in their along with it I guess. But he has a 70-80% chance so thats good I suppose.
I've known 4 people who have died of cancer, one of them died of testicular cancer when he was only 22.
I don't mean to bring everyone down, but this shit sucks. Ladies, get your tits and pussys checked once a year, if you can't afford it then I would be more than happy to make a house call. Guys, get your balls and ass checked once a year, I'll try to talk my girlfriend into doing it if you can't afford it.
Anybody here lost someone to cancer or have it yourself? Or to make it a little more positive, has anyone know someone who beat it?

No symptoms? Where the hell are you getting your information from? How the hell did she find out she had it? HPV in women is almost ALWAYS a visual diagnosis. Always. I believe there's some kind of test they can do, but it's very expensive. Guys rarely show warts. Very rarely.
It CAN cause cervical cancer. They should have done a pap smear and all that. If it's irregular, that's not good. But I wouldn't worry about it. Not common

the reason there seem to be conflicting reports regarding symptoms is because there are around 100 different strains of HPV. some cause cancer, some genital warts, etc. hope that clears up some of the confusion.

My uncle probably has about two weeks left. I went to see him on Wed and he hasn't been eating at all. I'm not sure what type of cancer he has, but I believe that it's throughout his body. To see him wasted away like that and him still being a jokester, breaks my fucking heart.

About 75% of the human race within reproductive age has HPV. It doesn't always go away. Smoking can help it stay around for a while. If you're lucky it will go into "remission" in a year or two, and you won't have any outbreaks.

Don't freak out before you get the facts.
Call an STD hotline, or research it on the web more.
By the way, HPV is also extremely MISdiagnosed.
Do some research and tell me what you find. Oh, and please please tell me how you know she has it. Because if she doesn't have any symptoms...
best of luck, whatever happens.

She had this vinegar test thing done, she had a pap recently and they told her their was abnormal cell junk or something. So yesterday she got that test done. I got an up close and personal look about a week ago and I didn't see anything resembling genital warts. I did research it on the web, about every place I went to says something different. Doctor said she had a mild case of it.

I am un-naturally healthy myself, and doubt I will ever be forced to deal with cancer of my own.
Unfortunately, many friends and loved ones of mine have (and continue) to go through it. I feel for you, and I'll make sure to send up a few prayers for you and yours.

Jeez, you have my sympathy. No one should ever have to go through that.
By the way, my screenname in no way mocks cancer, or portrays it as funny. It's not funny, neither am I.

All the people I know who had cancer were above 70's. Kinda hard to fight it at that age.
Good luck to you and your gf.

Good luck, man.
I have never had cancer. My grandmother has had a form of it.
I guarantee I will get cancer in my life. I am way too accident prone not to.
